Default Mesh Grill Insert or Full Replacement?

Guys I want to put a mesh grill on my 2014 FX4, I see on some inserts it says you have to cut out the old grill and install the new insert. I don't really want to cut anything so I can put the factory back in later when I trade it off or when I turn it in off lease.

Is there grill inserts that replace the factory insert or am I better off getting a full replacement grill? I like the looks of this one or one similar except my truck is Tuxedo Black.

I get surprised at how few responses I get on this forum with the amount of traffic it gets. Must be something I said. I'm an active member on multiple forums and just surprises me is all.

that grill in the pic you posted is a Grillcraft Grill. i have one on my truck and i really love the way it looks and its very easy to install (here's my thread with pics https://www.f150forum.com/f7/grillcraft-grill-310696/). unfortunately you do have to cut the insert out to make it work. from what i know i don't think there's a grill out there that just snaps in over the oem one and if there was i don't think it would look too good IMHO... check craigslist, ebay, or the classifieds on here for a cheap grill you can use to chop up so you can save the one off your truck.

Yes, I have the stock 2014 FX4 grill. Those remove with clips or what?

I have that grill and love it. I was a little freaked out cutting out the center of the stock grill. I actually cut a bit into the white plastic. I was sick when it happened. Luckily it was covered up by the grill and cannot even be seen. I never even gave it a second thought until this post.

I am so glad I did this grill. It really sets the f150 apart in my opinion. If you choose to do it, the install is not bad at all. Just take your time cutting out your grill. I used an electric sawzall. That might have been too aggressive. I would suggest a hand tool such as a small hacksaw. It would be worth the extra time.

This pic does not show off the grill at its best. I even took off the front plate so I could put the lower mesh insert in. I'll post a better pic when I can.
