That hole is where you mount the little bracket for the ABS wire harness. The stock bolt was too small for mcgaughys spindle so I had to get a bigger bolt. Told you it's a bear of a job. but you'll eventually finish it

So I have the same kit and mine is also a2wd and I started to install mine today and we ran in to the same stuff. It's been very difficult seems like nothing fits. When you installed your front spindles did it rub the shock before you installed your tires?? I'm having that problem and were not sure what it is. Ive been pretty disappointed with it hopefully it turns out ok and looks good. BY the way nice truck!

it shouldnt rub the strut at all. if you have a leveling kit or anything extra added it will rub. i had the bilstien 5100s installed with a .75'' lift and it was rubbing. I threw off the geometry and angles. it might be pretty close with out any weight on it but once you set it down on the ground it should come off of the shock.

Mine is also a 2wd and I used the billsteins at the stock setting. Mine did not rub and everything fit great. I would call McGaughys if you are having problems they are very good to work with over the phone.

If mounted correctly to the top and bottom control arm, the spindle is not suppose to touch the strut at all. My rear cross member was a nightmare. On the passenger side where nothing is cut or drilled, the 2 twin holes didn't line up. I had to drill it out to put bolts in. Other than that, the lift is amazing and drive is smooth.

So overall, is everybody who has this kit happy with it? Also, where did you purchase it and what was the price?? I am looking into possibly lifting mine using this kit as well, I am currently lowered 3" all around

Ya it's a nice kit but it was very difficult for us, everything was very difficult to fit . We had even called customer service but they weren't any help at all. We had to do a good amount of grinding for everything to work. Overall it looks good but it's not as easy as they make it seem. I ordered mine from their website site.

I had a very different experience than Musicbox. I did not have to grind anything and everything fit. The instructions could be a little better but I have installed several lift kits in the past. I did have a question one part of the cross member install but when I called them on the phone they were very helpful. I did use a lift and air tools which is also very helpful.

Hey guys, we just started carrying this kit because of the great reviews and quality. We have a 6.5" lift kit coming in for one of the trucks here at the office in the next week or so and will be doing a major write-up with pictures and hopefully an installation guide. Im not sure if we ordered it for our 2WD or 4WD yet, I will post more as I get more details from our project manager.

In the meantime, you can find this lift on our site in the link below. Let us know if you have ANY questions at all. We can get all of the answers for you! We also offer special prices for F150Forum members, so please feel free to PM or call any one of us!
