McGard lug nuts ‘14 STX
Just purchased new lug nuts, as most of my OEMs had become severely deformed. I have the standard 18in STX/FX4 OEM wheels. I went with McGard due to their lifetime warranty and being made in USA. I looked at several different websites, including McGards, and this is the item everyone said will fit, item number 64020.
I’m a little concerned about using them based on their diameter. They are a lot smaller at the cone/wheel end and I’m wondering if they will do the job. Does anyone have experience with using these? Are these going to be safe and have enough contact area to hold my wheel on? Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm drawing a blank in regards to the contact diameter. I remember it being crucial which would seem obvious...
Anyways I bought the Keyed/locking ones for each rim. They match the factory look and have held up excellent over a 4 year period.

Would HIGHLY recommend Gorilla lugs nuts (made in the USA, lifetime warranty, high quality, etc., etc., etc.) - 61108CXL *.attachment

No, I think they are legit McGard. I do see what you are talking about, and I think it's just a reflection of the round OEM lug nut. The McGards are perfectly symmetrical and are not bent at all. They are in new condition. I don't think it's knock-offs, I'm confident they are legit, I think it's just a poorly executed design for our trucks.
I checked McGards own website, Auto Zone, Autoanything, summit racing and a few others of the like, and they all gave this model number lug nut to fit a 2014 F-150, but there is no way.
I had pretty much decided last night that these were not going to work before posting. I just wanted to get some opinions from people here who know more than I do and may have used other brands. So for craps and giggles this morning I swapped one McGard out with my OEM lug nuts, just to see how they'd fit. There is NO way I'd drive with these. The straight sides/shaft of the McGards were actually touching the wheel before they were even hand tight. There is no way you'd get these tight enough to hold without grossly deforming the wheel, and then I'm not so sure they'd hold anyway. They seem to be made well, just not for my truck.
I usually overthink and over research everything, so this is my own fault. I found these cheaper on eBay and bought them, all the while wanting Gorilla to start with. I got 20 of them shipped to me new in the retail package for $57, another $15 for the other package to get a complete 24 set. I'm hoping to sell them to someone who can actually use them and take as little loss as I can.
Off to the internet to shop for Gorilla now. Thanks to all for the advice.

The McGard's I have are definitely different than those. The shoulder is much wider at the base..
Those are literally nuts, how they don't contact the rim first.
I was wrong. After a little searching, I bought Gorillas as well...

I got some from this place,
http://www.ezaccessory.com/Bulge_Aco...ts_s/18785.htm
Over 8 years ago for my Jeep Wrangler, while they are cheap, non-USA, they are solid one piece and have held up and continue to look good. The only point where the chrome is compromised, is down near the bottom where the edges of the lug wrench cut into them.
