Max Tire Size on Stock Truck
Hi Everybody, I have seen this questions answered before but with a variety of answers. I have a Stock 2013 XLT. I would like to put a 20x9 rim with all terrain tires. What is the biggest tire size I can go without any rubbing?
I have in mind a 275 or possibly a 285.
Thanks for your help!

I am not sure what the max size is, but I run 275/60/20 on my Platinum. I think it looks awesome, and is not overkill. This size is 33'' in Toyo Open Country A/T IIs. They are very quiet and look aggressive.
I did A LOT of research before I decided on the Toyos. I think a lot of guys on this forum will agree with me when I say the Toyos are about the best you can get in an A/T, no matter what size you get. It is a great all around tire for someone who wants good on and off road performance.
Also, they are made in the USA...can't beat that.

Kickin it
I know someone with a stock 2013 Platinum on stock rims fit 305/55/20 (33x12.50) with 0 rubbing. I know 275/60 even 275/65 I think fit, 285/55 will fit. Theres LOTS of options

I had 275/60r20's on my 2008 FX4 and had NO issues ... in fact, the stock tires are about 32" tall, and the 275/60's are about 33" tall (it all depends on which tire for the exact measurement of height).
Anyway, adding a tad less than 1" of overall height is nothing, and you can do that on your completely stock truck. The width is the same as stock, just about 1" taller.
You could likely go 285/55r20 which is a 33" tires, and about .5" wider than stock, and still have no rubbing or clearance issues.
All that said, just adding a 1.5" leveling kit (spacers) to the front will make a world of difference in the overall look and isn't expensive for what it is.

yah ... here are the 33" tires (P275/60R20 Toyo OC AT's) on my '08 I no longer have ... bone stock, no level/lift ... just new tires on 20" wheels ...
BUT ... just for contrast ... here is my '14 w/ a 1.5" lift/level ... and 34" tires. To me, that 1" of tire and the level/lift makes a HUGE difference in the overall look/stance.
