Default Mastercraft Courser AXT.............opinions?

So the guy at my local tire shop is trying to convince me to buy this tire instead of BFG ATs or Nitto Terra Grapplers. He swears by them and said he can give me a great deal. They look cool in the picture, they have an aggressive tire, and have read some reviews. I saw them in person yesterday when my wife had me run out to Wal-Fart. They are better in person for sure. Has anyone ran these or have any opinions on them?

Mastercraft...... If he is willing to give me a warranty on the tires and give me an incredible price we shall see. I'm dealing directly with the owner not one of his sales guys. I'm trying to work him for his business as well!

Here in Canada "Mastercraft" is the house brand name for products from Canadian Tire.

You buy Mastercraft wrenches, not tires!

That being said, I've never been a fan of Cooper products... Get the Terra Graps.

Has anyone personally ran these tires? I not going to not buy a tire just because I don't like the company that makes them, unless I have a really good reason!

They are probably just as good as grapplers... i hated my terra grapplers. Just like people talk crap about re treads but havent run them, i wont say these suck because i havent ran them. I would say trying them kills 2 birds with one stone. Cheap tires with a warranty and a possible business hook. haha

I ran a set on my FJ and last f150. For the dunes, snow, road, and rain, I've never ran a better tire. For higher speed trail driving they were great. For rocks and mud, I've ran better tires, but at the same time you need to think about what the tire is designed to do. You won't find a set on my crawler, but for a weekend warrior or expedition rig, they will be perfect. Not to mention they are quiet and on my FJ at 53,000 miles, they still had a significant amount of tread left. For on road use, I would have ran them to 70k.

My wife has Mastercraft Courser Tires on her 2006 Explorer. I don't know which ones they are off the top of my head, but they come with a 50,000 miles treadwear warranty. She got a good deal on them ~$400 mounted and balanced. I will say that they are noisier than the tires she had on before, but that may be due to the tread pattern. Grip seams great in all weather (believe me, I would know if it was not) and it looks like she will get about 50,000 miles out of them. Let's just say she drives aggressively.
I would not hesitate getting Mastercraft tires, if the price is right of course.

I'm between these or the nittos, and the indecisiveness of it all is driving me insane. Thanks for all your input, in my many threads. lol
