master key lost
So I lost my master ignition key, now I run on mykey which is just a joke, is there a way I can turn that key to my master? or do I have to go in and spend God knows how much money to get a new key programed.

The master key can be used to program other keys with limited functionality, like cannot go over 100 kph, or cannot use handsfree while driving). The spare key I believe will not allow you to program other keys.
My truck was delivered with 2 keys though, and I believe they are both masters. My Civic had 2 keys and a valet key that would not open the trunk if locked.

To answer the question, if you could turn your spare key into a master, I think it would defeat the purpose of the whole system, so you will likely need to go to Ford and get a new one. It shouldn't cost THAT much, but certainly a lot more than just getting a key cut, especially if you have the integrated FOB like I do.

I always buy a 3rd key for my vehicles (with 2 you can program yourself - at least thru 2010). That way I won't ever have to get the dealer to program a key. I will soon find out about 2013 keys when my Roush gets to the dealer in a few weeks.
