Make it heat up faster...
Beside the obvious answers of park in a garage, or an aftermarket block heater does anyone have tips to make the truck heat up faster and blow warm air faster? Any simple mods to the engine that can be done? It just seems to take a very long time for me. I know the colder it is the longer it'll take.

Mine takes at least 15 minutes to blow hot air if it is idling...takes more than 5 if I just get in and start driving.

I suppose you could get a supplemental heater out of one of the new super duties and mod it for your truck. I think it's just an electric heater as I smelled that burnt smell when I used it test driving a new 250. I don't know the actual location or how big the unit is, so that's all in the air. Lol.

There are circulating coolant heaters used on trucks in the high north. I only know of types that run on diesel though and they are very pricey. They tie into the truck's fuel line for fuel.
The closest thing I've seen for gas vehicles are the type you plug into 120v.
Decent ones go for around $150

What you're referring to is called a hot box.
The circulator I posted above runs for around $60 - $80 bucks and plugs into the wall along with a block heater or on its own. You can get them in 750, 1000 or 1500 watts.

just messing w/ you.
Keep the heater turned off until the needle starts to move a little. no since in pumping additional cold air across the heat exchanger (heater core). In my 2.3L mustang the heater is so "efficient" that it will cool the car off to the point that it can't blow any more heated air.
