Totaled or Repair
I got in an accident (no one was injured) on Saturday in my new 2013 Limited. I have about 6000 miles on the truck.
The driver's side airbag deployed. Any thoughts on what the insurance company (Traveler's) might do?

Aw man, that sucks!! Looks like you rear-ended someone. I highly, highly doubt insurance will total it especially with it being so new. With that said, I'd probably trade it after it was fixed especially if the frame is tweaked.

I had a mustang about 8 years ago that haf pretty much the same amount of damage and my insurance totaled it no questions asked. I say total and get a new one. Theres just something never rt about a vehicle with that much damage thats fixed.

no doubt it is repairable and it being so new no way in heck its totaled. Its got to be at 80% value to total for Ins comp. to declare. Get your rental car and wait for a month. Even when fixed I would get rid of it and buy another, I cant deal with a damaged vehicle, they never run/sound the same and the frame is weakened.

OP they will fix your truck for sure...you have nothing to worry about...it will look good as new..just find yourself a good shop. Travelers will take good care of you

that is complete BS...it will be exactly the same after the accident if a good reputable shop repairs it...you wont even be able to tell and it will perform just as good in a second accident..look at kozals truck...that damn thing was rolled and you cant even tell it was wrecked by looking at it
Although, I do think there's a chance it will get totaled. Airbag replacement is expensive, and so is the front end sheet metal. If it tweaked the frame rails at all, like where the bumper mounts, it will be totaled.
And if it is totaled, and you live in a state that allows salvage vehicles, I would buy it back from the insurance company and have it repaired. Based on the visible damage, I'm guessing that if it gets totaled, you could buy it back and have it fixed for less than 1/2 of what it booked for before the wreck. And pocket the rest of the insurance payout for something else.

There is no standard percentage in which insurance companies total. Idk why people think this. Your insurance will be different than the next guys. I know for a fact commerce insurance (in Mass) totals at 50%. Where others total at 60-75% It all depends on your insurance and your state.
Glad no one was hurt OP. We would fix that all day at my shop.

I had a bad wreck several years ago. The insurance adjuster would have totaled the truck but since I liked it, he agreed to have it repaired.
It was like a new truck when it came back to me with a completely new paint job.
I was happy to have it back and drove it for many more years.
I would do the same for a newer vehicle that I like.
