I also have the SI/SO and have probably 5k mi since install and still have annoying drone. It doesn't help the fact the tranny has to downshift everytime the wind is over 15mph (in kansas that is everyday....). I cut my factory exhaust to make removing easier, if it wasn't for that it would have been back on the same day!!

Seriously considering trading the truck off!

Hope this helps...

This is "Tech-Speak" for:

Put up with the damn drone for 1000mi and it will wear you down to the point where 99% of purchasers will just accept it and quit complaining.....

Magnaflow techs gave me the same "info". Obviously these systems aren't engineered for these specific trucks.

I now have a Corsa system and love it. No drone.

Did you run it for 1000+ miles first?

From the research I am doing it seems as though most people run it for a few days get annoyed and go back to the stock or other options.

What model Corsa muffler do you run? I may be one of those not willing to deal with the drone for $1000 miles.

I have 8000km on my Magnaflow exhaust and yes, it does still have the drone that everyone has talked about. This is not a break-in issue...more likely as others have said this is a design issue.

I don't usually drive constantly in the 1800-2000rpm range so its not really a big deal for me. I'm happy with my exhaust...overall it sounds great.

I don't know the model number offhand but it's the only one for these trucks.

I ran the Magnaflow for about 300 miles... It didn't mellow out at all and I don't think it would've went away all on it's own. A resonator may have helped but I had enough messing with it and wanted a sure shot system with no drone. For me the drone was right in the range I use the most when city driving.

I thought about the Borla system but didn't want a rear exit system this time around. I think they have the best sound by far.

I had a Magnaflow kit on my previous vehicle (Hemi powered) and it sucked badly. Took it off because of the drone. It was so bad it's really caused me to think twice about installing a new system on my truck. I also had a custom Flowmaster set-up on my 99 F150 , so I think if I do swap out exhaust I'm going to go with Flowmaster.

must be a 4.6 thing? Just installed a cat back SI/DO on a 2010 xlt screw 5.4. Sounds identical to my 2010 ram hemi i had. Awesome sound on accell and literally like stock cruising at any speed. I just ordered the same kit for my 2010 screw 490 bucks shipped, from autoanything!
