MAF Unplugged Throws Advanced Trac Control Fault?
So I got in the habit of checking my air filter at every oil change in my last truck, for K&N being dirty every 5K with GOTTS Mod reasons.
As on my wifes 2012 4 banger Escape I unplug the MAF plug so I do not pull any wires while unlatching and pulling the Air Box cover.
Well, on my truck I forgot to plug it back in and when I started it, it threw the Check Engine light but also the Advanced Traction Control System Error screen flashed and I could not engage or disengage it. I did remember I left the MAF unplugged, plugged it back in, disconnected the battery for a minute or two to erase the check engine light and it was fine.
Has anyone noticed that, and why would the MAF have anything to do with the Trac Control and Advanced Trac.
Then of course this makes me think, well if that throws a the Advanced Trac Error, then maybe you guys pulling Fuse 36 or 47 to get an off road mode may be throwing a MAF sensor off? Just a thought though.
