I'm considering these same tires (e rated Michelin LTX MS/2 in stock size) for my truck. Have you noticed any decrease in performance or fuel economy with them? According to Michelin, they weigh 50.2 lbs, as opposed to 39 lbs for the stock Goodyear SR-As. I'm looking for a bit more stability when towing, but don't want to kill my gas mileage or performance too bad when not towing.

I have had the ms2 on my last truck and they were probably the best all season tire I ever had. Had them in p-rated so cant vouch for the mpg's. But I have ten ply general hts' on my current truck and noticed no negative effect on my mpgs. I regularly get 21.5 mpg hwy trips with these tires.

What are you looking to get out of your tires? Towing? Snow traction? Or just a do it all tire?

I see your from wisconsin too. The at3's seem to work great around here.

I am going to LT tires for towing purposes. I am not going off road. Of course being in Wisconsin they need to handle our weather as well.

I'm a huge fan of the LTX M/S2...on my 3rd set (3 different vehicles). The only complaint I've had was I traded in a Denali about a year after I put on a new set of M/S2 and they were 17s so they wouldn't fit on the F150...still had about 60k miles left on them.

How much are you going to gain in the Load Rating LT vs the tires you have?

It's not as much "how much load can they carry" as much as it is "how do they carry that load" IMHO. The stock Goodyear SR-As appear very "squishy" to me (even pumped to max 44psi), and while they have adequate load rating, they don't seem very stable doing it. I'm hoping LT tires will be more stable.
