What does this do to the ablility to pull a trailer? I have a 22' boat that I pull that weighs about 5K...I would like to investigate lowering my truck but have my concerns about loosing the ability to pull my boat.

lowering your truck 3/5 inches pretty much is only for looks. when i lowered it 2 inches in the back to level the truck i could still pull my car trailer with my old ford on it and i still had good towing abilities, but when i did a full drop there is not enough travel between the axle and the bumpers on the chassis for rearend travel. as far as the ride it rides normal in normal driving conditions but it you hit hard bumps in the road the axle bottoms out .i talked to bell tech lowering and they said that in 09 f-150 and up ford took a extra leaf spring out of there trucks to make the truck ride smoother and all i would have to do is to purchase a extra spring for the rear and i could stiffin up the back so that it would not bottom out.as far as installing the kit bell tech said you could do it in the back yard at home ,but it took me 2.5 hours for the front and about 7 hours for the back .it might of been a little quicker if i had everything there to do it with.it was not a easy install as they make it out to be i had to drop the drive shaft and grind off the support for the 2 piece drive shaft and drill new holes in the chassis to mount the drive shaft back up to the chassis this took some time to do.on the rear flip kit unless you remove the gas tank on the drivers side you have to cut the front bolt on the drivers side leafspring to remove the spring. the kit comes with new bolts . total cost for the kit and parts was about 750.00 dont know how much labor would be if you had to pay someone to do this .

nolimits, did you by chance need pinion shims when you did your drop? i have heard/read that with the 2 pc driveshaft you do need them and some say you don't. my supercab has the 2 pc driveshaft as well, that's why i am wondering...

no in some cases you have to slot the control arms on the truck so you can line up the front end . i did not have to shim anything

I got the McGaughy's 2/4 drop and I have yet to put it on because of the rear kit. Like said above, you have to cut off the front leaf spring bolt head and drill out a hole that is 1/2" away from the gas tank (dont want to puncture the side of that). The other option is to drop the gas tank.
DJM has a 3/5 kit with control arms in the front. For anyone wanting to tow, the best idea is to add helper air bags and air them up when you want to tow. This will give you the awesome stance of NoLimit's truck and towing capability.
2/4 drop is good for towing. You can tow without major fears of bottoming out.

the shims i am referring to are the rear pinion shims that would mount under the rear end housing i think. not the front. the front shouldn't need anything i know. but if your pinion angle is out of whack, the truck will vibrate something terrible. just curious if you used the shims? since i tow with my truck, and haul stuff in it, i will probably do a conservative 2/4 drop on mine. just to be safe...

badass truck man! thats exactly my plans for my 09 candy red metallic..... 3/5 drop with simple 22's but without the shiney mirrors. you thought of anything to do with the grille?
