Default Low end ticking GETTING WORSE.

There’s a low end ticking on my 2012 f150 xlt w/ 207xxx on it. It ticks mostly at low rpm and when stopped but only ticks when in drive. It ran good all the way up until the last month. Some say I need to use 5W30 some say I need a valve adjustment, some even try to get my to swap my engine or change the crank shaft like my engine is going to explode. Has anyone corrected this issue?! I need to correct this ASAP.

Question

And "my engine" IS?

HINT/TIP: Put your complete vehicle information (year, model, cab, trim, engine, wheelbase, _x4 drive, mileage, etc., etc., etc.) in your signature -OR- provide it in your posting(s).

My 2013 5.0 with 40k miles on it has a tick at idle.

Im going with 5-30w this weekend to see if it helps.

Some say it’s an injector.

My1995 4.9 I6 was smooth and quiet at 130K miles when I regretfully sold it. Will Ford ever build good trucks again?
I had no recalls in 15 yrs with that truck.

Apples and oranges. Your old I6 had 12 valves worked by a single camshaft deep in the block. The 5.0 has 32 valves and 4 cam shafts spinning and moving right below your valve covers. Not unusual to hear a little mechanical noise.

The reward is the old engine made 150 HP and the 5.0 makes 365, more than double the output of your old engine while using less fuel.
