Loud electric fans on startup (ac is off)

I have a 2013 5.0 XLT F150. The past two mornings on the initial startup I’ve noticed the electric fans running. Maybe they have always run during startup, but I have never heard them before; they are louder than the engine idling. These mornings have been cool, so my garage where the truck is kept is only about 60-65 degrees, and my AC is off when started. After 20 minutes of driving to work, I shift into park and listen for the fans; I can no longer hear them. Does this situation sound normal to you guys? My understanding of these electric fans is that they should only run when the ambient temp is at or around 100 degrees, or when the AC is running. Is that correct? My truck is still under warranty, but I hate to take it in just to be told nothing can be found.

Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Is the defrost -ON-? *Has same effect as A/C -ON-

I tried unsuccessfully to get Ford to do something about these fans as I live in Arizona where higher temps are normal.....hope this helps understand what may be happening and why!?

on a cold start the fans will run for about 5min then go off and work off the thermo switch, they will also run if you remote start the truck in any temp condition.once the key is in the ignition and turned the fan will default to thermo switch and after a couple min fans will go off.

Mine does this as well.

I have had a similar issue with my 2013. Is it both fans or just one?

Mine would run one fan only high speed, my selling dealer told me it was normal. I took to another dealer. Turned truck on and they immediately said, that's not right!

They replaced the fan assembly and verified PCM programming. All is well now! Mine actually started doing it just out of the blue one day about 18 months after getting.

I don't think so, but will verify. Thank you.

I will check how many are running tomorrow morning. Thank you!

Did your fan stop running after driving it for a while, or did the single fan continue to run all the time?

Mine does something similar, but every time I start it except in the mornings the fans will kick in high for about 5 seconds then go right back off. It will do it every time I start the truck. Doesn't bother me but does seem weird.

Did you by chance have any warranty work done recently?

The reason I ask is that at some point in the 2013 model year and throughout the entire 2014 model year, the fan programming changed and it will cause the fans to do exactly what you are talking about. Except it won't be just at idle or when first starting. They run on high much more often than you would think would be usual.

I only know that because MPT sent me an update to a tune of mine and accidentally included it with the 2014 fan programming thinking that's what I had before. I did not like it at all and made no noticeable different to cooling or A/C operation so I had them change it back to the earlier 2013 fan programming.
