I have to disagree with their recommendations on the front. You're gonna be in there removing parts/installing parts and the majority of what needs to come out to remove those spacers will be out of the way. Namely the strut and coil. It less parts, I would remove the spacer and run the bilstein at a higher setting to get you to the desired height.

Why run two types of lifts when only one is needed?

+1. You will be at or near the same cost and doing all the same work. Pretty certain the Bilstein adjustable will ride better. It also allows adjustability.

If bilstein thought compressing the spring was better than a puck on top. Ill go with the bilstein level remove the puck

thsnks. Good point. Although they may not “think it’s better”, it could merely be about Marketing. If they didn’t have adjustable, customers would have to buy two products to get the job done. The shock is designed for compressed or uncompressed since they don’t know what setting the customer is going to run so I am sure there is compromise. It seems like people are happy with them. If the have the same lift, I’ll probably go that route and try not to have to shell out for another alignment. Just did a lift kit on my spare vehicle Jeep Liberty. Feel like I am at the alignment guy too often. Lol

Using this setup has even more preload on a factory spring and less working range. Is that better than a spacer? Not sure

I think they did think it was better. They easily could have gone with a Puck and just labeled them "Bilstein." The 4600's are cheaper so either way you may be paying the price of the puck and 4600's shock in the price of the 5100's.

Ehh not a big deal, one less thing to fail and I'm happy with mine.

Thanks for that info, I didn't know about the 4600s. My autospring kit is already installed (put it on back in March) so that is sunk cost. Shame that when I explained all this to Stage 3, they didn't make that offer so I have already ordered the 5100's and they are on the way. Now it's a decision of whether or not to remove the puck and adjust the new shock via the perch or leave the shock at stock height and retain the puck. I think I'll call Bilstein and get their thoughts on the difference.

:/

Myself I would uninstall the pucks, install the 5100's at what sounds like the highest setting and sell the pucks.

Thanks all. They arrived yesterday. I am going to put the rears on this w/e and hopefully get to the fronts soon. Once I am done, I’ll come back to this thread and post my impressions.
