Loss of power/mpgs after oil change
Just came from the dealer and they insisted they used the correct oil...5W-20 synthetic blend from Ford. Same oil since new. Paperwork I received says the same.
Picked their brains and none of us could figure out what could have caused that.
Will be putting a new full tank (min 30 gallons) of gas tomorrow so maybe it's the gas.
We'll see.

Is the oil level above normal?
Knew of a guy that put too much oil in and he lost much power. Drained it to normal and all was fine.

Well...nothing seems out of normal with gas or oil but the mpgs still suck bad.
A new concern has arisen while towing.
My truck has a 7,500 max tow rating. As I said earlier. It has 3.55s and now 305-55 20s (32" tall with actually measuring them). I have a tuner and have adjusted for the larger tire and am running 87 performance/tow tune.
I picked up a 2016 Polaris General this weekend and the truck towed like crap.
I had a 600 mile trip to go get it, central Florida to NE Georgia. Borrowed a buddy's trailer (2,000 lbs). With the empty trailer, the truck shimmied at speeds over 60mph. Weird thing is it would shimmy for about 30 seconds then ride normal for about 60 seconds and again, shimmy for 30 seconds then normal for 60 seconds...repeat over and over again the entire 600 miles when driving over 60 mph.
So, I thought that once I picked up the 1,500 lb Side by Side, and added weight to the trailer, it would stop.
Nope.
Same thing all the way back.
So I'm towing about 3,500 pounds and my truck shimmys; pretty badly at times, on and off for 1,200 miles. Key here is "on and off". It was never constant. You could almost set your watch by the intervals.
So before someone asks, we hooked the trailer up to another truck and no shimmying at all. This was a RAM. Also, if I'm not towing, no shimmy at any speed up to 80mph.
Also, not to forget the original reason for this post, mpgs still suck...really bad. Towing 3500 lbs averaged me 9-10mpgs at 65-70.
Not towing, around town, I get 12...highway, 16. Since the last service, I've lost a good 3 mpg city and 2 highway.
The truck feels like it has no torque. Towing at 65, up a slight incline, would downshift to 5th, then 4th and a few times 3rd...which is crazy.
This truck is entirely different then it was.
Not happy.

Failed to mention that I already did that.
However, when I did load the stock tune, it would have set the OEM tire size so wouldn't that make mpgs inaccurate?

id take it back into their service for sure, raise a stink...they could have screwed something up, drove it off without oil and realized it later, etc. It should have no problem towing that.

Since it is highly unlikely that changing the oil could have caused your problem and you have verified that the correct amount and viscosity were used then it seems more likely that the work involving the solenoid is causing the problem. Did the alignment get changed somehow? Bent part? Check your front tires for wear. Drag your hand across the width of the tread feeling for sharp tread edges in one direction or the other. An alignment problem could show up as a harmonic shimmy when pulling the trailer as the front would be lightened by the weight of the trailer on the ball.
