looking for some help
Hello all,
I am looking to buy my first truck and was just trying to get an idea of what everyone thought this particular truck would be worth.
2009 xlt supercrew 4.6l 18,200 miles
they are asking $26,000 and I have them down to $22,500 but, of course, I would like to see that go lower. what is a fair price on this truck?
here are some specs

eh i would go down. I got my 09 4x4 with the 5.4 and pretty much everything and a few more like two tone paint and all. It had 14 miles on it off the lot and i got it from 40,000 to 33 and some change. Not 4x4 and with the 4.6 and with 18,000 already on it and a year old now and previously owned, im assuming, it should be a little less.
I just got a brand new 2010 XLT off the dealer lot for 29,500 purchase price. The sticker price was $38,xxx.
That is a decision that you have to make for youself. Is a used truck with 19,000 miles worth a savings of an additional $7,000? If I could have found a similiar truck to mine that was a year old for $22K I probably would have thought really hard about it. But my truck was an impulse buy and I didn't look very hard at used. I only looked briefly online and seen that most 2009's they wanted 30K. That is why I went new.
But if the truck in not 4x4 I would think that you could get it cheaper than that.

it is a 4x4. It just doesnt say it in the description for some reason.
Thats been the dilemma all along. New vs. Used. I like the idea of getting something with less than 20,000 miles for short money. I also like the idea of driving a truck off the lot with 0.2 miles on it. Ive got some deciding to do I guess. Im going to offer them $20,000 and see what happens. If they say no thanks then its off to the next one
