Default Looking to buy winter rims... What do you think?

As title say. I'll be running dedicated winter tires next winter and I'm looking at wheels right now. I'm trying not to buy steel rims because I don't want my truck to be ugly 5 months a year.

How would that look on my truck

Thanks all

They look a little better than steel wheels, but no wheres near as good as your stock wheels look.

I know they don't look as good... but I'm cheap so I want to keep cost low and they were the cheapest I found. Stock steel wheels are 120$ each and those 142 and they are hub centric on our truck.

What if I plasti-Dip them then?

I was in the same dilemma. The amount of winter we have in Canada, my truck looks crappy for the majority of the year. I have 16" alloys with blizzaks, but I hate the look and I'm trying to deal on a set of 2010 FX4 20's to put some Zaks on. Either that, or I sell the winters and get a damn good A/T tire.

Here winter tires are mandatory... You need the snow flake on the tires!

They would probably look better Plasti-Dipped.
Or...Have you looked for some used or new take off F150 wheels? I picked up a set of chrome clad 17's on craigslist for $50. I Plasti-Dipped them and they are still ugly as sin, but I just bought them to run at the drag strip.

Yep I looked for used wheels and can't find anything at a decent price... I'm desperate ;-)

Here is mine...
I had the same concerns as you. Brand new truck and I wasn't about to put steel wheels for 5-6 months of the year. So everyone understand, it's the law to have winter tires here in Quebec Canada
I think you can do better then Canadian Tire... I got my kit at discount tire direct. I would look more at 18" wheels and tires then 17. The price of the tires are pretty much the same, but wheels are a little more.

guys are always off loading stock wheels from their trucks. Why don't you watch CL and ebay and the forum classifieds and pick up a set of 17" or 18" oem wheels. They will be good quality and look good and the smaller diameter will mean cheaper winter tires vs a 20" wheel.

EDIT: I didn't see NASSTY's post above saying the same thing. I think it just comes down to patience and how much time you have. Put up a "willing to buy" post in the classifieds and see if you get any bites.
