I'll keep you updated and if they come in I'll post some before and after pics.
So after almost a month, where is the update and pictures; Also extremely curious as to how exactly you determined that he worked for a dealer?

Default Power Fold Power Telescope Trailer Mirrors

Can you share some details of the install.

Did the power fold just plug and play?

Did your FX4 have the harness that would allow for the power telescope or did you have to wire / re-wire for the telescope feature.

SO want to know how hard this was to do. Willing to drop the $ on the mirrors if it does not require a bunch of re-wire work.

On a side note does anyone know if you can convert (remove) the power telescope and make it manual.

I'm guessing that if you have the power fold, heat, memory, puddle, turn...already that it is plug and play. I could live with manual telescope if that was the case.

You will not have the telescoping switch in your truck. I had to run 5 wires to each mirror for my install. PF (2) PT (2) and marker light (1). You could plug and play them and manually telescope them when you need them. The PT motor is clutched so it will telescope without messing up gears. I'd just run 2 wires to each and run power to a switch and you will have all features. But PF is all I really use unless towing my camper.

I take it you did not have any power fold option to start when you did your conversion? (Right it is a 2004?)

As my 2013 has the power fold switch in my truck already for the factory installed "Baby size" power fold mirrors and the factory installed ones are power adj, heated, memory, turn sign, that should take care of those features on the trailer power folds...Right?

If it will not hurt the telescope function to pull them out manually I could TOTALLY live with that as I would only be pulling them out with the trailer on and if the trailer is on they will not be going in an out.

The marker light is the only question mark I guess.

Where did you tap into for the marker light? After the switch I guess?

Thanks in advance. I really want to do this but want to know for sure that I am getting into.

One more thing did I read correct that you said a 2013 F250 mirrors are the same part?

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge f250 mirrors are different and have 4 mounting posts vs our 3

Yes on my 04 I had no option for PF. If you have PF option then the factory switch should work. Marker lite will require a splice into your headlight switch. I just peeled back the insulation on the wire and used a crappy stake on crimp. It's worked so far but I wasn't impressed with the cheap crimp. Really no room to solder or even use a heat shrink butt connector. My other thought was to use the trailer harness under the dash but I believe on the new trucks the brake controler is built in so good luck finding that wire.

I posted the pin out for PT and Marker light back in this post somewhere if you need it.

Can you get this style mirror with the marker light, without power fold-power telescope? If so, would you have a part number? It would be a much cheaper mirror.

As much as I want the power fold option the price up here is harsh.

I found a set of Carid ReplaceŽ FO1320388 - Driver Side Chrome Power Towing Mirror (Heated, with Turn Signal, with Puddle Light, with Memory) locally. They are the aftermarket version of OE # 9L3Z17683EC. for $500.

Local guy here had a set. The problem is we can't seem to get the memory or heat to work. The turn signal, mirror adjust, puddle light all work fine, just no memory and heat.

EDIT

Called Carid direct and they will not say that they will work with a 2013.....the local guy that had them was who said they would work.

I'm thinking that it might be that the truck seat memory control / rear defrost-heat control are not "seeing" the new mirrors. I believe that is what controls both of those functions. I tried the battery disconnect - re-connect but that did't fix them.
