I don't know anything about the aFe ones, but you can't go wrong with ARH or Stainless Works. I personally have Stainless Works because of the ability to run their performance connect and true dual exhaust, something you can't get elsewhere.
That alone was worth buying the SW over the other choices. But if you aren't investing in their exhaust, either one is a solid choice. I have almost 20K on my SW setup, and it has been flawless other than a slight fitment issue that only showed up during heavy off-road use, and that is only the exhaust, not the headers.
Both offer catted and non-catted, in 1-3/4" or 1-7/8" primaries, same basic design and materials. I wouldn't recommend the bigger primaries unless you have more mods planned in the future. I have the 1-7/8", and there wasn't as much of an improvement on the bottom end as their was in the higher RPMs.

I have stainless works on the 6.2 in my fx4. Probably the nicest fitting header kit I have dealt with honestly. It was a pain to put in the truck but they dropped into place and required no adjustments or bends to be made. This is even with running the 1 7/8" primary kit.

Thanks for the input guys. After having headers on my ranger they were well worth the time and money to do so. However after 5 years my jba's had created a leak in the middle of the merge of the primaries. Not wanting to have to buy headers due to this is a bonus. After doing some research I can find that only stainless works is the only one that offers a lifetime warrenty on materials and craftsmanship. So as of right now I kinda leaning thay direction.

I would go with an 1-3/4 header. I have had the Borla off-road header, which was an 1-3/4. It was awesome. Then I switched to SW 1-7/8. It was awesome but was not happy with the low end torque loss compared to the Borla and SW drone was very intense even after I put the OEM resonator back on.When I do it again,on my new truck, it will be the 1-3/4 for sure. Borla or ARH.

Changing out the SSW y-pipe (dual 3"to 3") to a dual 3" to 3-1/2" reduced some the drone and it feels like it picked up more on the top end.

I plan on going 1 3/4 as I don't plan on boosting my 5.0. If it has a drone to it you can easily add a resonator in the Y pipe and not have any real effect on the performance gains you are getting with the system. I do plan on doing a system that will bolt up to my existing system, I am really starting to like the exhaust my local guy has done for me. Initially I thought it was too loud but it has quieted down drastically and has a nice bark to it with out sounding like a 16 year olds first vehicle screaming here I am

I ordered and have an '11 Lariat Supercrew 4x4 with the 6.2 and 3.73 LS rear. Stock she felt really nice. But I wanted more. I too did the research. I went with the Stainless Works Long Tube Headers, high flow cats, X-pipe, and the dual exhaust with the chambered mufflers. Performance went up really nice. Sounds truly Bad. And Yea, everyone knows it's me before I arrive. Once you do decide, and if you haven't considered it yet, be sure to get a tuner and custom tunes. I went with the SCT Livewire. I have custom tunes from 5 Star and MPT. That little device with the tunes really amped her up!

I can vouch for ARH. Have a set on my 5.0 along with similar set up as the 6.2 above me^ with MPT tunes. Very nice investment.
