Long time users of performance tunes

From MPT:
FAQ:
What should I set my spark plug gap at?
The recommended spark plug gap on all tunes including stock is .028-.032. For higher boost tunes run the lower gap. It’s also a good idea to change plugs a little more frequently than recommended in the owner’s manual, especially on more aggressive tunes. 6,000 miles should be the max interval between changes on a truck that is driven hard, regularly, on our street tune and above.
Plugs are cheap…. “When in doubt… change them out
Plugs ARE cheap, it's cake to do, so frequent R&R is cheap insurance.
Don't fergit ye new boots if in doubt, and ALWAYS use dielectric.

50k miles on 5* perf tune. Have to remove tune and do about 100 miles on stock tune so I can pass emissions every two years. No issues at all.
Have a 2015 Expedition with an Eco that I'll be tuning / upgrading very soon.

Maybe you guys can answer my question since other threads I posted on have gotten no response yet. I want a tuner and my buddy has a SCT to give me. I have a 2011 Ecoboost. I have 3 years left on a power train warranty and want to know what you guys think of a tune. Are there risks? Will I blow a turbo or engine? I don't drive my truck hard at all, but will hit the gas if I need it. My truck only has 38,000 miles on it. (Obviously I don't drive it much) I know a tune will void the warranty but my buddy has a way around that. He said a vehicle monitors key cycles and if you reset the truck back to factory after a tune it resets the key cycles and Ford would know. He said if your battery dies it will most likely also reset the key cycles. He did that with his mustang when questioned and there were no issues. Please give me thoughts and opinions on this. It's a free tuner that's brand new. I would love the extra HP and gas mileage. I also would be running the street tune, not the racing tune. Also what kind of hp and torque gains can I expect?
