Default Locking diff **** problem....

So, recently at random my locking diff would engage without pulling out on the 4x4 selector ****...
Now it's stock in the ON position so to say as you can see from the picture this message displays when cruising; then when I slow down it engages. I can disengage it by pressing the **** in but when I take pressure off it reengages without pulling the **** out if that makes any sense....
When making turns at intersection etc. I have to apply pressure in so it is disengaged to avoid the harsh turns.
Thinking I may be able to take the dash panels off and hopefully tighten the switch back but wondered if anyone else has ever encountered the same issue or has helpful hints in dash removal. I'd like to avoid going to the dealer to have it fixed.
