mbullock - I don't think it's that bad. That video posted above is almost word for word the description in the manual.

But you have admit ford stuck it in a really weird place compared to where they usually are in their other models of trucks. Had i not read the manual, i doubt i would have found it either.

No doubt it's in an odd place but the manual is pretty clear. Anyway, I removed mine from that location and put it in the bed (camper shell). The last thing I want to have to do if I have a flat on the side of the highway is remove my son, car seat, and associated crap from the rear seat to get the tools out.

Ford has issued 3 printings of the 2009 Owner's Guide. The 1st printing (the version that was included in my truck) does not include the paragraph that has the necessary detail explaining how to remove the jack on Super Crew models. The description in the 1st printing only says, "SuperCrew and SuperCab: Under the rear seat on the driver's side".

I imagine that all of the questions caused Ford to expand the description contained in subsequent printings.

ahhhh, it's the government's fault again!
