Ford US isnt any better.. they wont buy back or replace my lemon of a truck after 6 trips to the dealer, 17 days at the dealer and nine times dead when i have gone to go places in it......
Very pathetic how they treat there customers who drop a lot of coin on a brand new vehicle... Ford will never see another penny of my money since they wont do anything to make it right with me over this truck.

It's not just Ford with customer service issues. It's a problem spread out in the entire industry. Browse any GM forum and look at the numerous problems with the 5.3L's with excessive oil consumption due to active fuel management. GM has literally no ****s to give unless the engine fails under warranty. My 2008 Silverado burnt itself to the ground due to an electrical defect, and the GM Canada rep told me that "It's an insurance issue, not a warranty issue" and physically hung up on me.
Chrysler corp has the same skeletons in their closet. Did they ever do anything about Sebrings with oil sludge problems? Or Rams with transmission and balljoint problems? By changing brands, you would just be skirting an economic issue. The only way to avoid the sub-par customer service is to luck out with a vehicle that happens to not have any problems. GM and Ram forums have manufacturer reps on their forums to try and offset the issue at hand.
Hope your Explorer gets straightened out, smurfs. They really are a nice vehicle.

20 years ago I was a GM truck guy, 1st truck great. 2nd truck a complete lemon. The 3rd truck, the service for some minor issues was unbelievably poor. All 3 came from the same dealer.
Time for the 4th truck, Ford made me a better deal and their service has brought me back for two more.
They've been reliable trucks and I've been treated with respect.
I can guarantee someone can say the same thing for the maker they are currently loyal to.

Dude you have terrible luck with cars.
Just FYI on the moonroof leak, is it getting on the headliner or dripping into the cabin? Reason I ask is a coworker bought a new Taurus with moonroof and thought his was leaking. He didn't want a car with a moonroof because he heard they leak, but he bought one cuz he liked the rest of the cars options and colors. He drove off the lot and it rained the next day, he put his hand up in the edges of the moonroof to check for leaks and found water was collecting around the edges. Took it to the dealer several times and the dealer could not get it to stop "leaking". Dealer ended up contacting someone at Ford and found out the the moonroof is designed to do this. There is a channel hidden just under the seals to catch water any water that may leak, on the sides of the channels there are tubes that go down to the b-pillars that drain the water away.

I was in the same boat. Dropped darn near $100,000.00 on two vehicles from the same Stealership!
Had an issue I was dealing with for 11 months, the Stealership claims they were dealing with Ford on the issue.
After calling Ford to vent I was shocked to find out the idiots didn't do a damm thing to try to fix the truck, they kept telling me they are working with Ford on the problem.
I took it to the other dealer on Broad street and they fixed it! ( I took it to the other dealer by Ford reps recommendation!!)
Had a meeting with the General Manager at the Stealership about the incompetence of his service manager. He said he would call me back on a Friday 4 months ago!!
I filed a claim with the BBB I doubt it will go anywhere!
The truck is still full of issues but at least I have a dealer that will support the product!
It's just too bad the Stealership I bought it from couldn't fix a flat tire on a wheel barrow!!
