Default LINK: Ford to leave 8 cylinders behind?

http://horsepowerkings.com/sources-f...50-after-2017/

I am not saying it's true. But I saw this article and I found it interesting. I couldn't picture V8s being completely out of the picture? Just thought I'd leave this here and see what response I get. If it's a snobby comment don't bother lol.

If Ford stops making a V8 they better figure out a way to make the replacement sound like one or they will never see any of my $$ ever again, yes the sound is THAT important to me, and I believe I'm not alone in this thinking.

Nothing makes the statement "American Muscle" like 8 cylinders breathing.

It's tough to tell, like the new ford gt sounds killer, but I woulda still wished for the 5.0 twin turbo or something similar like the Shelby motor.

It doesn't say the GT500 is getting a V-6. It says the new Ford GT is getting one. Later it says if the GT500 gets a new V-8, it could be the last Ford V-8 made.

I doubt the V-8 is going any where for a long time. Ford might just stop any new V-8 development but will continue still producing any current V-8's for quite some time.

It's about horsepower, not cylinders.....If they can get the power out of a four cylinder, they'll do it.

The nostalgia of the 8 cylinder is lost on the younger generation, they could care less. JMHO

I agree. I think my next new one will be a Super Duty though. If I change my mind and Ford doesn't offer a V8 in the 150, I'll shop elsewhere.

There are still many young people that love and appreciate the V-8. Just go to the Mustang forums. The younger generation is more accepting of the smaller engines though than us old dinasours.

I still say Ford will be making V-8's for a long time.
