If they can get that much power out of 4 or 6 cylinders, think of what could be done with 8!!

I am part of that younger group but now with ownig my first V8. I can say I love having the raw power coming from the engine over a turbo/supercharger. As im coming from a Twin Turbo Skyline.

No way Ford drops the 5.0. Thats going to be their base flagship V8. Unless all the other truck manufacturers drop their V8's. Not in our lifetime! Still.... Ford is playing around with the 5.2 in the GT500, who knows....some of that technology will hopefully end up on the 5.0. I to like the roar of a V8, but these days I'm extremely happy with my 14 Boost!

I feel like an American voter..Oh **** I am one! We are crying out in droves for Ford to give us big V8s but Congress...I mean Ford... is not listening. Unfortunately for all of us the US GOVT has mandated emissions on oil burners and gassers whether they are on or off road use specific. We are all victims of this and we can thank the EPA and liberals for the CAFE regs. We will clean America's air but will simply not allow the poor air quality of China and Mexico in our States. The trade winds have stopped blowing I guess. Oh and has anyone checked the price of fuel lately?

Unfortunately for us Ford truck fans the V8 in half tons is breathing its last breath...even though GM and Fiat (Ram) have 400HP V8s with 8 SPD trannys already and the Germans (BMW) still put out a 4.4L TT V8 that will just about smoke anything on an average day of getting groceries and delivering the kids to soccer we cannot get and GD proper V8 out of the old blue oval...even in a pickup. Ole Henry is probably turning over and over right now. I predict their market share dominance will topple in half ton sales.

Ford will go the way of the Dodo bird in my garage like many other posters voiced their discontent if they abandon the V8 all together.

If only everything was for the people and what we wanted!! Screw regulations.. Epa still allows old diesels on the road rolling coal, my v8 gets good gas mileage, don't need to try and get 30 lol

Nothing makes the statement "American Muscle" like 8 cylinders breathing.

The '15's already have "sound enhancement" on their higher trim-level trucks, Lariat and up I believe on both the 2.7 and 3.5 Eco's. It pumps a created V8 sound through the interior stereo speakers.

Crank up your speakers, you can hear the fake V8 sound here.
