Here's an update on the liner:

I got ahold of Line-X's corporate office today and explained what was going on and was told they would not cover the repairs needed. My truck was originally purchased in December of 2011 meaning the liner is less than a year old. I tried nicely explaining this to them and asked if they would make an exception and stand by their product. I was told no it was no longer covered and I'd have to pay all costs out of pocket.

From what I take of this Line-X put a product in my truck that failed in less than a year under normal circumstances this was not like I was beating it with a hammer. Then they will not even back that product up because the truck was sold. I understand that they have the warranty worded its the original owner who has the lifetime warranty, but it blows my mind they would not make an exception for one less than a year old.

I hope anyone who reads this keeps this in mind next time they need a bed liner or has a friend who needs one. Line-X will never get a cent of my money.

I would still do what others have suggested... pop in to your nearest Line-X dealer and show them the damage. Seeing a nearly new truck with damage goes a long way. Even if they charged you, it will probably be minimal.

Like another poster stated, just take it to a Line-X dealer and show them the chips, and don't tell them your not the original owner, but that it's only a year old.

I bet they fix it (unless Line-X) put your VIN in a database stating it has been sold or something.

A lot of dealers will fix it but you won't know unless you try.

They do.....for the original purchaser. That's the point I tried to make before. I posted the warranty certificate that states the conditions of the warranty. I feel like they should cover their PRODUCT regardless of owner. When my installer did my warranty certificate, it includes the vehicle info including VIN and my name, address, etc.

OP, maybe try what others have suggested and try taking it to the local dealer and see what they can/will do. I'm pleased with my liner thus far, but the company not standing behind the product once it changes hands is ridiculous to me.
