I would always go black, color match looks odd to me for some reason.

I have the Line-X UV protection (black) on my 2010 FX4 Ingot Silver and it looks great. Got it done a year ago and it still has a great shine.

It looks like they pulled the bed bolts first. Is that correct?

Yes, they pull the bolts and spray, so that they don't seal and you can't remove them in the future. The bolts can rust slightly over time, but can be replaced.

Thanks, do you have the tailgate step. If so, how did they spray it?

I do have the tailgate step and they didn't spray that at all. Guess you have to specify that and I didn't know to ask.

I had Line-X applied in mine a couple of weeks ago. I asked the guy about color matching, specifically how marked up do the light colors get (mine is silver.) I haul stuff. He basically said if you're going to use it as a truck go with the black. The colors are pretty, but will show marks/stains/etc. I went with the black and thus far it's been great.

The local applicator is advertising free upgrade till Sept. 31st. They say it comes from Line X directly, so no added cost for me. Here is their page:

And Line x coupon:

I'm trying to think how to put this
It's not a smoother texture, you get the same texture.
It's like when you have an unwaxed truck your hand doesn't slide across it
it will stick to it,. That make any sense??
When I get this one done I will go with the UV coat just because it looks so good. I don't mind tying stuff down.

Primer them black a couple hours (or days)before you take the truck in.
Don't even take them out , just spray them where they sit.
It's not gonna hurt a thing and it will look so much better then having galvanized bolts on a black bed
