Would this also work for the HDPP/7 lug trucks? I am only seeing one carrier part number (besides the LSD) and the axles look to have the same part number so I am thinking yes. 7 lug hubs shouldn't make a difference in the LSD fitting.

As far as I know the differential is the same so it should work, but I dont know.

**Update - I have 144,000 miles and I've had to pull the axles out of the back to replace axle seals, and paint the cover because the chrome started flaking off, and I had to put axle shaft seals up front too, but other than that I still
love the LS front and rear in the Winter.**

I revived this zombie thread because I've had some members asking me about the upgrade.

Has anybody tried putting a mechanical LS in the new 8.8 differential yet?

I'm assuming that these are the factory-original seals and weren't replaced during the differential swaps, no?

Correct - original seals. If I could do it over I’d have made sure they got changed.

My hindsight is 20/20.

Yep, thanks for being the guinea pig! Gonna be replacing my open with TrueTrac so I might as well replace the seals while I'm at it since I've got almost 100k on the clock now...

Well, I'm now definitely committed to the Torsen: scored a complete Raptor front axle from a 2014 for $650 locally with only 55K miles on it. I just have to get 4.10's and a TrueTrac for the rear axle before I can install this Raptor front axle...

Good Day All,

I need some help please. I do not live in the USA and the local Ford dealerships here are not as knowledgeable or helpful when it come to modifying/ chaning out an F150 front diff.
I have gone ahead and purchased the items in the photo. I had purchased the items before seeing this thread so was very happy to see my homework was correct.

1x CL3Z-4026-E Diff
2x XW4Z-4221-AA BRG Cone
2x D9AZ-4222-A BRG Cup

I am going to ask my local Ford dealership to change out my front diff for the Raptor Torsen diff.

The problem I have is, I need to supply all the spares required to do the work as my Ford dealership will not pre-order anything.

I am going to use the same gear set (Ratio: 3.55 crownwheel & pinion). The pinion will not be touched so will be in the correct position.
With changing the Diff carrier & bearings I will most probably need to adjust the crownwheel position relative to the pinion.

I have read in this forum and others that there are various thickness spacers to get the correct crownwheel position/ setup.
My problem is the Ford spares website & Tascaparts website does not list the spacers.

I have two question:

1) Where is the spacer position?
Is the spacer between the crownwheel and diff carrier flange (Unlikely I think)
or is it behind the load side taper roller bearing?

2) Is there a website that lists all the various thickness spacers to position the crownwheel?

I will need to purchase all the spacers so that when my local Ford dealership is doing the work they will have the required thickness spacer on hand to setup the old crown wheel on the new Raptor Torsen Diff.

My vehicle is a 2017 Ford F150 Lariat, 3.5L Ecoboost, 10 speed, FX4, special edition.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Morris,

The Gen 1 & 2 Raptor use the same front Torsen diff P/N: CL3Z-4026-E, can be used in 2015- 2019 F150's where the STD front diff is 8.8" 31 spline.
The reason I posted my reply here was I saw a photo of the Torsen diff provided by montanaman whereby he installed the diff in his 2011 F150.
Looks like this diff can be used in 2009- 2019 F150's
