Yes fellas, this mod is all about "personal preference". Personally, I like the finished look to be OEM.

I've been reading where alot of guys are doing this mod and only the on/off switch is operational. I was wondering if purchasing #2 (moduleBL3Z13C788A) so that the dimmer switch would also work? I would need all parts in the pic except 1 and 7....
I was considering doing this mod with all oem parts like you stated. I am holding off for now cause I am gonna purchase the amp power steps while the rebate is good and I am also about to take the wife and kids to disney $$$$. Please keep us informed if you go forward with the mod and what the outcome is. If it works I will start acquiring the parts necessary to do it.

Welp, doing some general searching around ebay, I came across this OEM kit, pretty much has it all I think:

Wow! That 17 dollars I spent on this mod makes me feel a lot better. Next week I am going to figure out how to do this on my wife's escape.

Hey to each their own OEM Ambient lighting remains a premium and I don't knock anyone for doing it.

It inspired me to create the "$17 dollar" option for the rest of us
