heh, probably true of the BDS... but blocks are not bad inherently, it's just a trade off on cost per height at the sacrifice of performance. it's like anything else, just one solution. The skyjacker rear leaf packs are an interesting prospect that I've been considering as well (remove blocks and run the leaf pack), but then why is the skyjacker ones SO much cheaper than american or deaver? makes me wonder.

anyhow, getting off topic. There are several different quality lift companies, some come with new shocks and whatnot, but I'd rather get ones from a shock company, or one specializing in suspension movement personally so included shocks are irrelevant to me. I'd rather run bilstein HDs matched to the length.

Yeah. I just never understand the people who pay more for a lift with blocks, just to experience axle wrap/wheel hop and then have to buy traction bars on top of their already more expensive lift. Just doesn't make sense to me. But, to each his own.

I don't know if I completely trust Skyjacker either. Their leaf springs are around 400 or so cheaper than Deaver. Plus they seem like glorified add a leafs and those while aren't as bad they aren't that good either.

They do squeak. That is my only complaint. Glorified add a leafs? How so? Not even close. They are a FULL leaf pack

Sounds like any lift has its issues. Are there any lifts you'd all stay away from totally?

Default Lifts

Rough Country Lift on mine. The rear blocks are anti-axle wrap type. They are much longer at the top and have additional mounts. I'm happy with it so far.. no issues, better than stock ride.

Day 40 - Still have unpainted handles on the left.

Day 40 - Level removed from front, 6" Rough Country Full Suspension Lift.

I'd like to know how exactly an anti-axle wrap block looks/works...?

They are tapered to compensate for the shift.

Well that doesn't prevent axle wrap. That just corrects the driveline angle. The axle will still wrap when torque is applied.
