Default License plate lights (LED's)

I want to change mine over to a LED, is it even possible ?? Mine look like a sealed unit I didn't want to pry the darn things and bust them..

If they do come apart are they a wedge bulb or a press in with a quarter turn ??

Thanks..

I popped the unit out of the bumper easy enough but it didn't look like it came apart ??

I'll go have another look at it..

I just reach up behind the bumper and took them out. Pretty easy.

Easier method, take a small thin bladed flat screwdriver and pry the entire light out of the bumper. Here's the LEDs I used from superbrightleds.com.
wled-whp5 $6.95 per bulb

Great mod!

I got my bulbs for 7 bucks. I also think reaching behind the bumper is pretty damn easy as well. To each their own though.

all that work is unnecessary.. just reach up behind and untwist the connections just like you would for a head light or fog light bulb.. took me all of 3 minutes maybe to change both

I tried to take mine apart. Do they turn or just pull out? You can buy the bulbs cheaper from here:
