Could always remove them and just use plate lights. You may be wanting to keep the stock look..but that would do the job and eliminate the problem

Once you get the hang of it, they're easy to remove and will stay out without issues.

Fyi dorman makes an aftermarket version that looks the same for very little money. They're junk though, the plastic lense melted.

Went back to OEM ones and put some sylvania zevo 194 bulbs in.
I've never changed a bulb. They literally shake off while I'm driving. I called Ford on it once and it's a known issue.

I have the Recon tag light assemblies too. I installed mine about 6 months ago. No issues.

It took awhile but I finally found a set from Dorman. My bulbs are good but only one works, so fed up I just have one working tag light.

Never heard of this problem. Lots of off-road and mine are loose in the slightest. Can't imagine how they would even get loose without handling them. Bulb changes don't even touch them as you do that from the back.

I bumped mine with my foot when standing on the bumper to install a security camera.

Weird. They are the same housing on the 04-08. Maybe the opening on the 09+ wasn't as tight of a fit?

I've never had issues with them falling out in the 8 years I've had them.

Guess it only applies to this gen.

Can someone tell me which fused circuit the license plate lights are on? The 2012 Owners Manual does not.
Thanks
John
