I have a question about my leveling kit. When I bought my 2011 F150 the dealer had already installed the leveling kit. It looks great but it drives extremely stiff. I was wondering if the kit is stretching out the stock suspension in a bad way. I am willing to put some money into the truck to try and smooth out the ride. Also, I am feeling it in the steering wheel as I drive, basically I feel every bump in the road. I am running Dick Cepek 305/55/20 All terrains as well. I would appreciate any feedback/advice that yall have...

So are a body lift and leveling kit one in the same? Im in no hurry to lift my truck so I dont mind saving for a good quality suspension lift. I'm thinking 4"-6" lift. Ive heard of some names like rancho, rough country, and a couple of others. But I'm a complete noob when it comes to trucks so what do you guys recommend.

I would like some feedback from this group on a leveling kit with new tires and the cost associated with it. . . . . .

I spoke to a local guy here in Grand Rapids, Michigan - Venom Motorsports for any locals - about putting a 2.5" leveling kit on front with 1" in the rear on my 2011 FX4. In addition, I want him to mount 285 75 18's on my stock wheels to give me a much taller tire with a little more width on the tread. He is also going to perform an alignment with this work.

He quoted me a price just north of $2K for all this work. Is this a reasonable price for this work and materials based on any of your experiences?

I'd appreciate any feedback on this. Thank you.

Assuming the $2k is tires, leveling kit, block, alignment, and labor. Pretty high IMO. You can do the leveling kit yourself. Buy the tires online to save some coin. You really should only have to pay for the alignment and mount/balance of the tires. $200 max.

I have never done anything like a leveling kit - removing suspension parts etc. I'm reasonably mechanically inclined. What kind of time would I be looking at to accomplish something like this and what tools are absolutely necessary to do it?

2-3hrs for your first rodeo. Basic hand tools, air tools if you have them but not necessary. All tools needed would be listed with the kit you order.

It may not be that bad of a price.

I did the rear shocks myself and had my bilsteins done at the dealer. The labor and alignment was $300. All 4 bilsteins were $333 shipped.

So labor would be a little more if they are doing the rear AAL.

I could have done it myself but it was nice to drop it off and just pick it up done and drive off.

I has a 2inch level installed, new tires (295x75R18 Terra grapplers), alignment and all toll it cost me $700 out the door. Even with the $120/stock tires he gave me it would have only been $1200. A far cry from your $2000. Even with a block install in the rear I can't see $800 more.

Default Need some ideas

Have an '08 Harley F150 2WD. Want to fit larger tires and change stance but want to keep the stock Harley 22's. No money for a full lift with suspension and mods. Just want more than the 40 series tires. Maybe 70 series. Not sure how that translates to inches 35's and the sort. This is not a work truck but plan on a pontoon in the near future "hopefully". Any ideas?
