Default Leveling issue??? May have problem with Ford?

Okay guys.... I installed a leveling kit myself and had an alignment done at the dealership I always go to.

About 2-3 months later, my power steering pump takes a crap. Coincidence?..... I thought so, so I take it to ford under warranty. They gave me a slight hard time with wanting to fix it under warranty due to the level kit. I stated my argument.... the service rep said " We will fix it this time, but if it goes out again in the next few months..... probably wont be covered" He did state however that if I took off the level.... it may be a different story.

Well wouldn't you know.... 2-3 months later (now) its taking a crap on me again!

Has anyone with a leveled truck had this problem??
Heard of this problem????

Thinking of taking it to a different dealer before I remove the level.... I don't know. No power steering does suck when parking.

Thank you guys in advance!!!

Jordan

that sucks man. but you might want to take it off before you take it in. you can always put it back on. of course i don't think the level caused the problem. but why give them a chance to deny the warrenty.

Yeah I'd try the same place, or else take it off and try again, or take it off and take it to a different dealership.

did you disconnect the electric power steering or battery before leveling? on install videos that is one of the first steps. people seem to have problems with the 2.5" with alignment also, what height and brand did you use. some have no problems with 2.5" also.

What type of level is it, spacer, shocks etc? How much of a level? I've got 7 months and counting on my Bilstein's shock level and no issues for steering or suspension.

Check angles through the steering motion left to right. Binding is bad, assembled wrong?

I have a 2.5 spacer kit... got off another member so not quite sure of the brand. I don't believe it binds at all while turning the wheel to full lock or anything. I want to switch bilsteins at some point...... this is frustrating me!

I think I will take it as is to a different dealership and see what happens.... an then go from there.

So you violated your warranty and are now upset? Even after they did you a solid and fixed it the first time? I bet they put a note on your VIN for FoMoCo and you'll get denied at any dealership now.

wow you are a positive ball of nothing arent you ...

OP i would go to a diff dealer not say anything about the kit and go from there... some dealers look for reasons to deny coverages cause they get paid NOTHING on a schedual of fees to do the work as opposed to taking in street work ... they can over bill for ..

some dealers will not care... everything is case by case basis ...

for examply your dealer will tell you all oil changes need to be done by them .. NOPE wont void anythig if you do it your self or a local shop read fine print of covereages.. as long as you have a record of who.. what .. when .. miles and typ of oil... they cant deny it ...

so 1-ignore the clueless guy i quoted... and 2- go to a diff shop... most techs wont even notice the level kit ...just tell them you are having PS pump problems and go from there
