I just purchased a leveling kit that uses spacers, front 3" and rear 2". What will happen when I install this? Will it effect my ride or suspension?

You bought a leveling kit without knowing what it does?


It's gonna raise your truck, ride shouldnt be affected as you're not replacing the shock. It mounts on top of the coil.

You will need an alignment afterwards.

I knew what it's supposed to do, lol. Thanks, I was more concerned with how it would affect the ride. Thanks for the knowledge of needing an alignment after installation.

I did only a 1.5" front AS level and yes it made it ride a little rougher. gained just over 2" with this on a 2013 Screw. if you a using blocks in rear nothing will change but with an aal it will be stiffer.

i would return it and get a kit that had a 1.5" or 2" front spacer. 3" is gonna put alot of stress on your front end components

I did a 1.5" ReadyLift front level only and it is exactly level now. Haven't noticed any ride quality changes..Maybe a sought mpg decrease but not a whole lot

2" autospring with stock rear. Biggest change in the ride came from 10 ply LT tires.

Most spacer-type leveling kits will raise the vehicle more than advertised. Usually about 1/2". My 2" Tough Country kit raised my '05 about 2-1/2". The reason is, I think, because the manufacturers only calculate the theoretical lift based on geometry alone. What I believe they fail to account for is the decrease in weight transfer to the spring caused by the increased control arm angles. Because of the steeper CA angles, you will experience a bit stiffer ride, but it's not much and a lot of people don't seem to notice or mind. I just picked up a really nice '13 yesterday (4X4 lariat, 6.2L, 51,000 mi.--yahoo!) and I'm going to give it a 1-1/2" kit, with my expectation being 2" actual lift. As mentioned above, the tires will make the most difference.

Agreed about the tires contributing to the harsh or rough ride.

It's going to stress your CV joints in the front. They will wear out faster. My spacer is 1.5", so half what you bought, and even at that I get some odd noises in the front end while steering in parking lots.

Your ride WILL stiffen up. Mine did, and always has with any spacer lifts I've installed.

Your ball joints should be OK, but keep an eye on angles and make sure you have the truck properly aligned after the installation.
