Let's talk wiper blades ...
The wipers I have on now work pretty good at clearing the windshield without streaking the water - but they've gotta be some cheapo blades because they're incredibly loud when I turn them on unless the windshield is soaking wet. But when drizzling or moderately wet, these suckers rub very loudly. So I'm wanting to replace them with some good quality blades that are [hopefully] quieter, and of course won't streak. Any recommendations? Any warnings on which to avoid?

I have tried them all including Bosch ICON {2 sets } ,and found the Motorcraft wipers to run the best and last a long time.

the thicker Motorcraft blades that came with the truck in 2013 worked really well. then i went with Michelin and those were OK but started tearing after about 6 months. ordered Motorcraft blades again but this time they were thinner than the original set and didn't last as long.
I currently have Bosch Icons since March 2017 and they still work great.
I'll note i also use P21 windshield washer booster for the past couple of years. no chatter and smoother wipes across the glass.

The rubber on your blades has dried out and hardened. Just get a new set. Any of the higher end frameless ones will be good.
I used to to swear by Bosch, but they chatter and skip so much with rain x that I’ll never use them again.

This thread is all over the place, LOL. For what it's worth it's a crap shoot largely dependent on the type of environment the vehicle is used in and how frequently and the condition of the windshield. (glass gets pitted with use)
Lots of people have nothing but bad to say about Rain X wipers but I've had a set on my truck for over a year and they still work great. I'll give the Bosch Icon's a try next go round.
And someone mentioned Motorcraft blades the truck came with, that is erroneous information. The truck came with Ford (unknown) blades and you can only replace them with Motorcraft blades at a dealer. I tried to get some oem blades for another vehicle when I worked at a Ford dealer and hit a brick wall, we couldn't even order them.
Best wiper blades I've ever had the pleasure of using bar none. No idea why they don't sell them out right because they would dominate the market.

I'm on the Bosch ICON train as well. They came on my truck (bought used) and they have worked great in all conditions. When I have to replace them, I will buy ICONs again.

I’m a little over 2 years on my Rain-X blades and they still perform like day 1! The glass was replaced at the same time due to a large rock chip that spread.
Wiper blades do need to be maintained. Whenever I clean the glass, I also give the contact edge of my blades a wipe down with isopropyl alcohol. Even on a clean car, you’d be surprised with the amount of buildup accumulates on the blades.
