I installed a sidewinder hitch on the camper for turning, if I went any higher with the rear of the truck the camper would contact the tail gate (the camper axels are flipped already) . PS I am going to pull an 18 foot boat this summer behind the camper.

Question

I REALLY need to do something about my XLT's plasti-chrome grille, but I don't want to pay $400 for a Ford OEM grille.

Will pasti-dip stay on? Any decent aftermarket grilles? Simple all black 3 or 5 bar grille is really all I need. A black FX2 grille would be ideal if it's plug & play?

Thoughts?

Plasti dip is hit and miss - i did the chrome trim on a cadillac and it bubbled in places due to direct summer sun.

I did my grill almost a year ago now with Plasi dip. Been through many car washes and rain/snow storms and still looks great. The trick is prep, wash real good with soap and water then when dry rub down with alcohol then make sure it's dry before spraying. When you spray it start with a real light coat, let it dry then repeat at least 4 times.

I did the whole thing at first but it was to much so removed the paint off the outer ring
