Looking for help with my 2011, 2wd, Super Cab F150. I just swapped out my stock 265/60/18's for Michelin LTX MS/2's (Im a Michelin guy) anyway for stock 18" 4x4 size 275/65/18.
The OE 2wd size gave my truck a "slammed" look I've hated since I owned the truck new. Plus I scrape the airdam thingy and my ball mount on my steep driveway daily.
Just going to the OE 4x4 size tire I picked up 1" of lift which I'm grateful for, but now I want to give the truck a proper stance and lose the rake everyone is talking about. Also I'm not sure if its an illusion or not but even though I'm running OE 4x4 sized tires, if I park next to a 100% stock 4x4 F150 with the same 18" wheels and rubber I swear my front still looks about 1" lower?? I know 2wd's don't have the 1.25 spacer in the rear, but after looking extensively even on a dealers lot I can't tell a difference between the front ends on a 4x4 .vs 2wd other than the obvious missing drive axles? Do 4x4's have a slightly longer strut/spring shock assy?
Even on all the leveling kit sites, they list a different part for a 2wd. Basically what should I get to get a perfect level, with ought accidentally creating that overought "stretched" on stilts look? Would a 2" AS and 1.5" rear block work? or should I go 2" front and 3" rear block? Im not going to get any bigger tires than I have, and before anyone asks my other car is a Subaru Outback when I need 4WD.
Being that I live in California, and at my age I have no desire to purposely take my truck off-road anyplace where I would potentially get stuck. And I quite frankly couldn't afford the extra $4k for 4WD when I got my truck 2 years ago.
