Let's hear about those trouble free trucks!

My 2010 FX 2, 4.6 3v, has been completely trouble free. I may be tempting fate, but it has been a joy to drive and own.

No engine, body or ride issues. I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!

KJB13 01-24-2014 07:22 PM

Bought my 2010 XL last May, with 100,000 miles on it. 4.6, 3 valve runs great, no problems.

Haha....just kidding!

ducky 01-24-2014 07:41 PM

I bought my cc fx4 5.0 with appearance pkge last march. I fall in love all over again every time I get in. I drive with no hands! I steer with my new-truck boner! I love this truck

painthorseowner 01-24-2014 07:41 PM

Only 3800 miles, but so far so good!
Truck info in sig line.

troutspinner 01-24-2014 07:50 PM

2011 Eco, 30k, not a single thing.....if you don't count the bed rail cap popping up that one time where I had to give it a good thump with my palm to snap it back in place. ;)

PearlBlue5OH 01-24-2014 08:08 PM

2012 cc 5.0 no issues with 28XXX miles. I am very impressed.

blakers213 01-24-2014 08:35 PM

2011 5.0 scab. Bought used with 34000 miles. Now I have 37700 miles. I read about all the problems on here and I just drive mine with no problems. No hard shifts, great gas mileage, no shutter and any speed, Ive bought new tires and love it even more. Only thing I could possibly complain about is it has the smallest glove box and sunglass holder of any vehicle I have ever owned.

getterdun 01-24-2014 08:38 PM

2004 F150 Lariat

84,000 miles. Only had to replace front hubs, repair wire in interior lights circuit, and reseal third brake light. Going to be repainting the interior dash pad over glove box soon due to deterioration. The AC ran low on fluid a couple of year ago and had fluid added. Will probably need to add more this coming summer. No engine or transmission problems! Exterior paint is amazing compared to my prior vehicles.

akeco 01-24-2014 09:18 PM

2011 ecoboost screw, nothing but oil changes for 78k. Love my truck!

Thats for the tiny little mittens all real men wear, lol.

jabNE 01-24-2014 09:38 PM

2009 fully loaded FX4, 52,000 miles. I've only done the scheduled maintenance stuff, oil changes, plus the all fluids, filters, plugs were changed at 50,000 and a new set of continentals.
I bought it used at 20,000 and intend to drive this for a very long time. My favorite truck I've ever owned! It's mostly a commuter but for about three straight months each winter it's my Trapline workhorse. No problems whatsoever!

No issues here at 1k

Chrisj 01-24-2014 10:12 PM

2011 2WD SCAB XLT. I bought it "pre-owned" and it was like new. It has the 3.7 V6 Flex fuel motor and I have never had a smoother running engine in any vehicle. In 14 months I put 12,000 trouble free miles on it and am absolutely happy.

Hope you have better luck with your Continentals than I did with mine.
All the tread on the LR came off on the interstate, tore up the wheelwell and tore up the rear bumper when it exited. ($2800 damage)
I was only going about 65 (Drinking Coffee) when the tire failed.
Contintental refused to even acknowledge receipt of my complaint. :censored:

RLXXI 01-25-2014 12:25 AM

2013 with a little over 4000 miles and nothing but smiles. :D Had to re-flash the pcm to the latest calibration that fixed the odd trans shifting and now it's perfect.

ruff rider 01-25-2014 12:28 AM

My 13 F150 Platinum ecoboost is more reliable than the wife. Truck only seen the service bay for oil changes. The wife has had to have major repairs but she is still under warranty.

STingray1300 01-25-2014 12:37 AM

Almost 11,000 miles. Just did 3rd oil change (1st was @ 500 miles). Roa trip through Rockies @ elevation and snows.

-0- problems of any kind.

OK, I lied. The driver's side rear passenger door panel developed an annoying rattle. Installed a buffer strip - Voila!

Love my EB!

Marco Kill 01-25-2014 02:45 AM

32000 miles runs like a jack rabbit as always. 2012 F150 FX4 appearance package Ecoboost with a few touches intake.exhaust and chip on a level and 33-12.5-20

2012 Screw XLT 5.0 31XXX miles, only issue I have is not enough funds to mod her up! Other than that nothing negative to report here! I love my baby

offroadeco 01-25-2014 07:51 AM

Had a 2011 ecoboost with 33k no issues except the dealer newer " skid plate" on right after oil changes. So far no issues with my 2013 Ecoboost with 6k on it.

cthusker 01-25-2014 08:35 AM

18000 (almost) trouble free miles with 2012 Eco SCREW Lariat. Only problem was the auto sliding back window died. Dealer replaced with entire new unit and no problems since. To be honest had I been reading the forum before purchase I would have thought the Eco was the worst engine Ford engine EVER produced!! I love the truck and engine has been great. Do a fair amount of towing and love the low end torque. It would rings around my old 5.4 in every respect but especially towing and MPG. BTW I've averaging almost 18 mpg for 18000 miles. Mileage has A LOT to do with how you drive one of these Eco's…..

jabNE 01-26-2014 08:31 AM

Ole man dan, I did have a slow leak in left front about midway through December, was only about 10,000 on these 70k tires. I had purchased the road hazard warranty on each tire when I bought them. I took truck in to where I bought them and the warranty. Tire had sidewall puncture, which I figured something I did running it through a lot of corn and bean stubble every day for almost a month and a half running traps. Warranty applied as intended, a little pro-rata adjustment for the 10k I had already put on it, and I was out of there with a brand new tire and very little cash paid out of pocket for the tire swap out for new. For about $20 a tire, the road hazard made sense to get for me on the $1,300 I put into that full set and with what driving I planned on doing with them.
Since majority of my time is commuting, I leaned more toward highway tire, less to mud/snow, and saved a lot of road noise. I only drove fields when it's bone dry, otherwise I get out and hoof it to run my line. I like walking it anyway but sometimes the boys and I are pushed for time so we drive the line where we can. These tires still work great for what snow and ice we've had so far, and the cost was a little less than the stock wranglers that came on them when I bought it. I do watch to see what other folks run on their trucks on this forum and appreciate any suggestions and feedback. Thanks for sharing your experience on the continentals. Will keep that in mind on my next purchase.
Working on some of those under $50 mods been reading about on here. Love that thread.

2013 FX4 with 25k miles. Nothing interesting to report other than a few minor snags here and there that are true for any car.
Most importantly, this truck rides like a dream and I don't understand how I was able to put up with smaller cars in the past and why doesn't everyone drive a pickup truck. The world would be a better place.

WOW… that's a lot of miles on a 2010. Might I ask how did it gather so many miles so quickly? Just curious……..

I'm a oilfield salesman and I cover a very large area so I run the you know what out my trucks. I've always been a Ford guy but I've also tried the other brands and I will tell you none gives me the service I get out of a ford. I actually only had the front end aligned once and I tow a lot hauling equipment I've sold and that also includes a considerable amount of oilfield roads. Just can't be the F150 for all around use.

TheWhiteBeast 01-26-2014 01:19 PM

I have a 2010 FX2 with 24,000 miles and this truck is awesome! I drive this over my corvette and I have had zero problems with it! My last truck was a 2001 F150 xlt that I put 205,000 miles on with zero problems. The truck ran better with 205,000 miles than when I bought it.

something wrong with my truck?

2013 4x4 xlt sc. 5.0, el. locking axle, 9000 mi. no knocks, no bumps, shifts perfect, fuel mi. 16.5-17 in town,20-21 on road trips. I trade every 2 years, going to have 2015 in 1 1/2 years.

I bought a 2009 STX super cab 4.6 2V V8 last May with 33,000 miles, the engine bay looked new and also the under carrage and I now have 44,000 miles on it.Replaced one tire sensor and cleaned the MAF other than that trouble free.Love the truck. :)

Maxwell1331 01-26-2014 06:57 PM

I bought a Ford Certified 2010 King Ranch SCREW last February with ~55K miles on it. Its been a great truck since the day I picked it up. Nothing but oil changes and leather conditioning.

I'm already laying the ground work for a slightly used 2015+ F-150 with the wife in the future though.

maybe too early, but 2013 Crew 4x4 XLT V6 TT, no probs, loving it. My first gasoline powered Ford.

...unlike my 2012 Tacoma which had massive drive train shudder, bad transmission, and other random probs...arbitration win.

2011 Ecoboost. 53,000 miles. No issues yet

Lost In Sync 01-26-2014 08:56 PM

2013 EB. 65,000 miles. Bad speakers but incredible fuel economy. Over 20mpg average.

Syclone Rob 01-26-2014 09:21 PM

2012. F150 5.0. 24000kms. Only had 1bad rear sensor and no heat in passenger rear view mirror. Otherwise perfect. No shuddering, engine issues or interior noises. Better then all the GM crap I had before.

Traded for my '13 that has 9200 smile making miles on it now.

Of the six Ford trucks I have owned over the years all have given me great service. They only needed regular maintenance along with normal wear items.

I just this weekend traded an '09 XLT crew cab 5.4 with 106,000 miles. 0 problems from day 1. It had never been in the shop and never had a part replaced on it, sill had the original plugs and ran just as good as it did new. I changed the oil and air filter myself every 5,000 miles. Just traded it for a '13 FX2 crew cab 5.0 and hope I have the same experience with this one.

Mattm400 02-04-2014 12:35 AM

I've had my 13 FX4 6.2 for almost a year, it has 11,000 trouble free & very enjoyable miles. What a nice truck to drive!! http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8f9cc96b.jpg

2011 5.0 screw 4x4. Learning to live with the occasional really low rpm shudder. Great gas mpg's. Great ride. Great exhaust sound!

Kung 02-04-2014 09:01 AM

I've owned two Ford trucks:

- 2004 F150 - bought with SIX miles, now has 163K. I've replaced a right rear blinker light, and aside from that (and normal stuff like tires and brakes) that's IT.
- 2013 F150 5.0 SCab 4x4 XLT - 5K miles, no issues. :)

Bosro 02-04-2014 09:35 AM

Ford,Chev didn't matter.
The Ecoboost has been average....nothing major but still into shop.

my 2001 5.4 4x4 lariat screw was trouble free until about 105,000 miles when it blew a sparkplug out of the head. The funny thing is ford didnt want to replace it, but THEY had just changed the sparkplugs a week before. im sure you all know the probnlems with the 5.4 and sparkplugs, anyway after they put a new head on it, i drove it until feb 2011 whemn i traded it on my 2011 it had 205,000 miles on it then. Im aproaching 60,000 on my 2011 XLT screw 4x4 5.0 3.55 rear.

acadianbob 02-05-2014 10:08 AM

2012 FX4 Ecoboost. Zero issues of any kind. 37K. Oil changes and tire rotations; that's it.

speedtwin32 02-05-2014 01:21 PM

Just rolled 60K on my 2011 FX@ SCAB, not a single issue to date, runs like a scalded dog!

Now that my power train warranty has expired, I am heading to Lamotta Performance to have that damned annoying speed limiter turned off so I can finish smoking the Tundras and Silverados I burn off the line......only to watch them pass me back at 94mph, grrrrr!!

Best truck I have ever owned and plan on keeping it for many more years to come!

archham 02-05-2014 01:46 PM

2009 XLT 5.4 with 88k miles. It has been across the USA and back, pulls a 7k camper about 2,000 miles per year. Regular maintenance, one set of tires and one set of brake pads (original rotors-never even turned). I think I replaced two bulbs and that is it.

2011 Crew with EcoBoost. 38000 with only the driveshaft "bump" which was fixed with TSB under warranty. Involved basically small part and teflon lube. Common problem on 2 piece driveshafts on F-150.

Love the truck. Got 19.8 MPH overall for the 38000 miles which I think is great.

2005 F-150 - Trouble Free

We have about 85,000 miles on our 2005 F150 and it's been relatively trouble free. I've replaced the battery (normal) and one rear wheel bearing. It's been a great truck and gets 19 mpg on hwy with 4.6 V-8. Tows my car hauler with ease. It's so good, I don't even think about a new one.

2011 FX2 157" WB SCrew, 3.73 Max Tow, etc...

61.4k miles... 22k+ has been with a trailer behind it.

Tuned since 16k miles with Livernois tuner...

- Driveshaft slip-yoke bump at 21k and 50k miles (dealer re-greased it both times)
- A transmission solenoid was replaced at 21k also, because the dealer noticed a harsh 1->2 shift when they were testing to make sure the driveshaft slip-yoke bump was gone
- Fuel filler door spring failed on the first fillup after 36k miles
- New battery last summer at ~35k miles because the original was getting weak already

I had the dealer remove my stock 26gal tank at 23k miles and put in a 36gal tank with the new fuel pump and heat shield...

Trans fluid flushed at 60k miles

That's about it... Oil changed every 5-7k miles. It gets worked pretty hard, actually (heaviest trailer I've pulled so far was 11.5k lbs).

This weekend, I plan to put the Mag-Hytek diff cover on and put in Amsoil gear oil.

The best vehicle I ever owned was a1997 F150 4x4 4.6. I put 185,000 miles on it and replaced the starter and alternator, spark plugs and wires. Nothing else but maintenance.

Drove it in coal mines and construction jobs almost everyday.

In the no troubles note:

1995 F150 Eddie Bauer 515,000 trouble free miles, 3 starters, 1 alternator and driveshaft, This is a great, much loved truck-bought it with 10600 miles on it in 1996 & drive it anywhere, anytime. Keep those good trucks boys!

I custom ordered my Red Candy 2010 Ford F150 XLT Super Crew 4.6L 3V brand new 4X2 w/ a heavy tow package 9400 tow rating. Not Max Tow. I have a spirited driving style and have towed a double slide Wildwood 36BHBS across the United States and all over the place Oregon, Washington, Idaho. We have towed it from Ohio to washington on highway 40 to 30 to 20 to 10 and up the California, Oregon, Washington coast. This truck the way the trailer is loaded, is a fair amount over weight. But it has done an excellent job never gotten hot in fact not even close. It has the Hypertech tune installed and to this day I have 1 set of brakes front, rear and a battery. 73K so far and the scale weight is 17,600lbs. I have an equalizer 14k hitch with the trailer sway control bars at max torque. I tow at 55-60mph. Best most durable vehicle I have owned. I have driven this truck very, very hard at times. It takes it in stride. I forgot about a small easy to fix leak in the back window w/clear silicone on these 2 little rivot seals.

only 5800 miles on it in the last 45 days but the only issue i have is the 6 passenger configuration is a lil hard for my elbow. need to put a cushion on the cup holder section i guess. lol other then that is perfect for us.

I've owned my 2000 F-150XL six cylinder, manual transmission since March 2000. It still has all the original bulbs, no major problems in almost 14 years. The battery was 9 years old when I had to replace it. Replaced both upper control arms last summer due to wear. The truck currently has 85,000 miles. Oil changes done every 5000 miles. I love FORD!

My old 1997

My old 1997 XL supercab with the 4.6. I had bought it when it had 96k miles and drove it until 180K. The only things I did to that truck was tires and brakes... still wish I didn't trade it off.

43,000km and not a problem

k-stater88 02-12-2014 09:23 AM

my 2010 has 27,000 miles, and while i've been a bit dissapointed in the mpg's, it's been by far the best truck i've ever owned. Ole Jones (truck) has done me right over the years, and look forward to many trouble-free years ahead.

2006 F150 Lariat Supercrew 4X4......
I hope there are some GM or Dodge guys just being nosy because I'm about to tell them about a Ford ...... 266,888 hard miles as a pipeline inspector and the the only repair has been replacing the blend door for temperature control under the dash. A cheap fix I did myself. It rattles like a 5.4, but, still runs great. Transmission will downshift a little sticky once in a great while, but, only into low. Body & interior are is excellent condition, so I'm just gonna drive it until it quits and drop a motor & tranny in it. There's a reason I've been driving Fords since '76....

1stTruckGuy 02-13-2014 10:56 AM

65k miles on my 2012 screw lariat, just got an OASIS report (I'm not the original owner), and it has never been in for warranty work or repair. Routine oil changes, diff and transfer case fluid swapped twice, transmission fluid twice. I did have to replace both IWE actuators when I bought it 1k miles ago but other than that it seems to have been and hopefully will continue to be a very reliable truck.

Stewy604 02-13-2014 11:01 AM

No issues on my 2012 Platinum 6.2L...56,xxx and counting...bought in October of 2012.
