I'm in Houston too and I'm hoping the sun stays out long enough for me to tackle my new truck... The dealer swirled it up pretty bad before I got my hands on it so clay, polish, seal, and wax will all be needed!

Then when I ordered my '11 I left special instructions not to wash it when it arrived. They looked at me like I had 2 heads. They were actually embarassed to sell such a dirty truck but I was ok with it. I've bought my last few trucks there so they already knew how **** I was about my paint and they know I work at my friend's detail shop part time.

When I bought my 06 F150 (black of course) I could see some fine straight line scratches from the lot boys wash brush. They told me they would have it all cleaned up for me take delivery the next day. I said no I'm good, I'll take it as is so it doesn't have any more scratches.

If my truck purchase wasn't such a spur-of-the-moment dealership treck I probably would have done the same thing. I ran a detail business for a few years and honestly expected no less when they told me they had the truck washed and prepped for me.
Will they ever learn to use grit guards and proper wash mitts? I doubt it.
Does their mess give me another chance to drool at the sexiness of my truck while I'm buffing her out? Absolutely.
