Default Let me add my experience about low speed shuddering

2011 screw, short box, 42k miles. In the past several hundred miles I was experiencing a shuddering when I would accelerate from a complete stop. Didn't last but two seconds and a couple feet. More noticeable with the wheels turned making a left or right. So I searched this forum about shuddering and found many posts and I was expecting many solutions. I took it in today to my dealer and a tech drove it. Felt the same thing. Popped the front wheels off and one of the front brake pads was worn like a wedge of cheese and he could see on the rotor where it had been grabbing. Original brakes and I use them hard. Well new pads, resurfaced rotors and problem gone.

I have the exact same shimmy on acceleration from a stop, during the first few feet of travel. But, mine only has 6k miles on it and has done it since day one. I am having a hard time imagining how worn brakes would cause an acceleration shudder, when they aren't being applied.
