Default LED reverse bulbs?

Anyone replace their reverse and cargo light bulbs with LED's??? The stock bulbs seem so dim compared to my 04 f150. And if you have, are they brighter? Worth it? Part number?

Thanks!

Yup. we all know the reverse lights suck. I installed 5 watt CREE bulbs from retro solutions and its 10x brighter.

I replaced my backup bulbs with a LED bulbs (about $20.00 a set on ebay) that a forum member said was brighter. The LEDs were not brighter than the stock bulbs.

That's the trouble about free advice. We have no reference and some people are enamoured by the different color temperature rather than the absolute candle power.

I just ordered a pair yesterday. I ended up getting a pair of 921 Cree 5 watt LEDs. I researched this too long but found out that there are plenty of folks that have them and say good things.
Another thing that sold me was that I have a couple of Cree LED small flashlights and they really impress me.

So currently, my suggestion is to search for Cree 5w LEDs. In another week I should be able to give you a hands on perspective.

The problem is Ford switched from the 3157(04) to the 921(09) bulb type. Dont buy those led's with like 10 little led's all around it, they are no brighter than stock. You want a 5watt CREE 921 bulb.

If you can find them, they make the Cree Q5 LED's in 3w, 5w and 7w. The 7w Are harder to find. I got the 7w's in my truck both Reverse and Cargo Lights wired together, and Yes, They Work Great!

If anyone in Toronto, Ontario wants, I have 1 pair of 7w's left they can buy em from me for $35 Canadian, let me know. I wont ship em.
