LED / Lighting Peeps: Anyone know how to put something here to glow the console?
My wife's car (and many other cars) seem to have a "glow" about the console area. The light comes from a little LED inconspicuously located in the area near the sunroof / rear window slider. We appear to have space to hide a little LED up there and I didn't know if anyone had done anything or knows of a product that might work. I'm looking to get just a little light on the cup holders and storage area near the shifter.

Sharper, I wanted to do the same as my 2005 Chevy Z06 has that, and my wife's 2012 Chevy Equinox does, I decided to go a different rout and drill a hole between the two cup holders and put a single dot smd led in my non-flow through console in my 2012 xlt, and also put a 6 led strip in each footwell from www.superbrightleds.com! I bought two of each in case one of them were to burn out! It all ran me $33.00 shipped, and took a hour and a half start to finish!

Sharper heres a pic of what I did, I put a light upswitch next to my Sync/Cigertte lighter that turns on my led's in the footwells and in the console cupholders, hope this helps...
This one is with the dash lights on...
Here it is with the ambient lighting on only, hope this gives you some ideas Only thing stopping you is creativity!
Best part is its not distracting at all at night like I thought it might be, I also installed a dimmer so I can controll the Led's brightness!

While OP is MIA ill toss around my thoughts and maybe when he comes back his questions will be answered!!
The part of install would be fairly simple but my question is, what kind of LED to use some that the ONLY place you see it is when looking down as they are done in cars from the factory

Just finished my front, rear, and center console lighting today:
Soldered, heat shrank, and concealed all wiring by removing center console.
Disappointed when I tried to install one more LED bezel right above the USB port but it is too tight up there to fit one.
