Yes after installing mine you can even turn off your headlights and fogs offroad and see more with just the light bar.

Do you have hid projectors?

Mine has good light but if I turn off my HIDs heads and led fogs you can tell a difference.

No I don't just halogen. But it really makes me want to get some to match the color now.

It was a cheap Amazon bar iirc. Like $150 cheap. It does help with light in front and on the sides of the truck. I'm happy with that and the bumper combo.
