Sorry Steve. I posted on this thread about the SnapRest I bought on on another thread. I haven't ordered from you yet but will be calling you soon to order the LED's.

No worries. I wanted to make sure we hadn't slipped up.

Thanks!
Steve

I noticed a few pages back mention about DRL concerns. Was this addressed and I missed it? If so was it stated if these are okay to use with canadian trucks that have DRL?

Or to use these will I need to somehow make my turn signals the day time running lights like the 13-14 HID trucks have? If so is there a how to for this?

I am very interested in these bulbs from the looks of pictures in this thread. Thanks

I asked the original question and Southeast did get back to me saying that these lights will not work with DRL equipped vehicles. REALLY sucks, as I wish that I could do something like this to my truck. Basically rules out everyone living in Canada...unless someone can find a way to disable the DRLs without having a dealer do it illegally.

Just a thought. If I was to install these bulbs and then completely cover the light sensor on my dash, would that effectively 'bypass' the DRLs and cause my lights to run at full brightness all the time? If so, would that allow me to run the LED bulbs without fear of burning them out due to low voltage from the DRLs?

The Gen 1s are not DRL compatible. These new Gen 2s are still marked on Lifetime's website as not DRL compatible but I spoke with Lifetime LED and they think they will work. The reason the Gen 2s are still marked as not DRL compatible is because we don't have long term test results.

Short answer - the Gen 2s hopefully will work with DRLs. Try them.

Thanks
Steve

Thanks for the info. I guess we just really need to figure out how to wire up the amber turn signals as DRL and have the dealer turn off the headlights as day time running. Essentially you are legal still, just using a different light to act as DRL.

So until that happens we are SOL

I'm curious about these but I'm standing by for a few more reviews and some of the "against the wall" cut-off shots the projector retrofit guys drool over.

Hello,

I just reposted an update from earlier. Lifetime told me to use the Gen 2s (what the OP bought and what most people are buying here) with DRLs.

Thanks
Steve

I don't think they will have the nice cutoff of HID's. But if we can get more light on the road without affecting on coming traffic, that's a step in the right direction.
