leaving tow/haul on while not towing

I'll also probably sick with the stock 275/55r20 tires, but will only have the funds to choose to tune or re gear. The re gear will probably cost me about 200 more than a loaded tuner. Being that I have 3.15s now, I'm thinking the extra money will be worth the re gearing, but do you think the tuner would be enough? Thanks again

I have an eb. Thanks for the input. I'm surprised to hear that the tune would be more effective than a re gear.

Tune first, then regear.
You need the tuner to adjust the gear ratio in the computer anyway.
A regear will cost a lot more than a loaded tuner. I paid over $1000 for my regear, parts & labor. My loaded tuner cost me $400 from MPT.

Thanks, but I can only choose one. My friend use to be a Ford mechanic for a long time, but now has his own shop. Since my truck is 2wd, he said he can do the rear for around 600. He can also flash the ecu (he already did my tire size change and police mode). Still undecided on what to choose , but I do have some time, and these opinions definitely do help. I do want the power back, but mainly want to relieve stress on the transmission from the upgrade in wheel size and I think the re gear will take care of that. Opinions are welcomed and greatly appreciated though.

What's police mode?
Given that your friend can do the gear swap so cheaply, I'd recommend that first. That said, a tuner will really wake up that EcoBoost but it won't relieve driveline strain.

Keeps the lights from automatically coming on when locking /unlocking and opening the doors.

The Macho King
While in tow haul mode it will downshift while braking and going downhill. While it is running higher rpms, it is not burning more fuel.
