leaving my truck as is from the dealer
Am I the only one who lacks any desire to customize their F 150?
I see lots of threads where everyone is crazy for mod's to their trucks. And I think that is great if you want it. But I bought a truck that had the features I wanted. I can't think of anything I need to add with the exception of maybe getting the two door windows tinted. And that is so I lose the sensation of driving in a fishbowl.
I had a few "must have" items on my list when truck shopping. And the STX crossed every one of those bridges.
Maybe I am just the odd man out.

Your the exception! not everyone cares for all the mods, and are happy with their purchase! some do it to standout from the others! I like the look of a nicely done lifted truck with 37" tires, but not enough to lose mpg's and spend all that money just to trade it in 4-5 yrs later, and possibly have problems related to the upgrades on the truck! But to each his own! I say its your $$$, your truck do with both how you please and can afford! Ive done a few mods but nothing drastic, more function and cosmetics than engine/suspension, I dont care to mess with those!

Meh. I like adding a few things here and there, but overall I like stock. I do way too much highway driving to justify big knobby tires and awful mpg. I liked my truck the way i ordered it, and that's how i want it to stay for now.
I feel like my truck gets no respect because its stock. 80% of the trucks on here get leveled or lifted.

A lot of people want to put their mark on their truck. There's lots of stock trucks running around but we want to make it ours. To each his own but it's sometimes a way of self expression. I can't draw worth a crap but I can make my truck represent me.

After having new lifted trucks every few years, I'm done with them. I have a wife, baby girl, dogs, and the need for a practical vehicle. I love my '12 fx4 supercrew. Nav/sunroof/lux package. It has everything I want. Lifts lead to tons of premature suspension, steering, and brake wear. I pull my rock crawler jeep to and from the trail. The lift will only decrease my ability to pull and decrease road manners. I also worked for a 4x4 shop for many years. Perhaps I got it out of my system. The only thing I have done to my pickup is put in a bed mat and a leer 100xr shell. I think when the stock tires go, I will go for a nitto terra grappler or maybe a mtr Kevlar or trail grappler.
