Thanks for all the comments! So far, still leaning towards choosing cloth...

Similar config as shown in my intro post with no intended change on mechanical config:

Yours looks stealthy in black but my new truck (actually, all my vehicles) will be white.
After 3+ yrs, how well has your FX4 cloth seating fabric held up?

I like leather when new but IMO cloth holds up better long term. With people sliding out of the seat with jeans and having dirt on there butt id rather replace a cloth seat vs leather. If you do get leather be sure to get heated and cooled seats. I'm just a very **** person and I think cloth looks new longer and I don't feel like I need to be as careful with it.

Very surprised that dye from blue jeans would transfer onto cloth fabric but tan does show everything. I'd not be happy with that outcome...

Love my heated leather trimmed vinyl seats in my FX4. Someday I will be old enough to want a King Ranch with the real leather seats.

Every vehicle I've had with cloth was always hotter in the summer than with leather. The surface of the leather is hotter, but the vehicle interior temperature was always hotter with cloth. I asked a service tech I trust once about it and he said something about cloth absorbing more heat due to either extra padding or the material or something like that. Either way, it took much much longer to get it cooled down. Summer in Texas can get brutal.

I say Leather all the way for this reason.

Leather. Cloth feels too stuffy for me.

6,500 miles with regular cleaning/conditioning treatments, still looks like brand new and will continue to look like brand new. I like the colour and texture of leather.

Good point - Pkg 402A/502A includes "heated and cooled ten-way power leather-trimmed front seats" which truly is different than leather seating. Even so, very nice to look at and comfy in most situations I'll bet...

Default Options

My truck has cloth (bought it used or I would have opted for leather).
I have been thinking of going with an aftermarket Katskinz cover....vinyl no less. Kids, dogs and cloth are not a good combo.
I had leather in my Explorer for 11 years and 200K. A few wrinkles and some wear but not bad if you consider how many times something slid across it.
Back to the vinyl- It is not as "plastic" as it used to be. Much softer and more flexible.
I have hear aftermarket is supposed to be higher quality than OEM. Maybe buy with cloth and change in few months/years. Have a friend who bought a Crown Vic and had aftermarket leather put in for cheaper than the OEM option.

Prefer leather, but I ended up with cloth on my new F150. We'll see how it goes. I feel like I'm constantly adjusting my clothes for the first 5 minutes of getting in the truck to get comfortable with the cloth seats. With leather, I never have this issue.
