2013 xlt leveling kit questions
hey guys i just put on a rough country 2.5 inch level( strut extensions only) on my 2013 xlt crew cab, literally just got done about 2 hours ago, so what i wanted to ask if anyone knew, is once everything settles in will the front of the truck come down a little? ( not sure how to phrase the question properly sorry) this is what i noticed, the front seems just a tad higher than the rear, (which is not noticable unless you look at the gap from the tire to the top of the wheel well), ive seen a bunch of guys with 2.5 levels on the same truck and it looked completely level, just wondering if this is because of the brand or just because i havent had enough time to drive it and settle everything in, so should i just give it some time or invest in rear blocks too?(i probably will eventually to have a little rack for towing but i dont use this everyday for towing so that not a big issue) only problem is i dont want the front higher than the rear, any thoughts or experiences? oh and btw if any of you are thinking about getting a level and do it yourself be prepared to go to advance auto, local hardware store ect. for example, in my case the bolt that came with my strut extension didnt fit so i had to get new ones along with locktite because i couldnt find locking ones, and the bolt attached to the control arm and ball joint was the biggest pain in the *** to get off(shouldve had 2 people) but basically i couldnt get it off and had to heat it up and ruin the bolt so i had to replace that bolt too, also be carefull of the electronic power steering connectors, i used a little too much force on the top connector and broke the locking mechanism, i learned my lesson for the bottom one but that was even a pain in the *** to get off for me, so now its held together with a zip tie but i have to order a new connector eventually but for now it should be fine........ might not be the same for everyone, but those were the biggest problems i had getting it in( besides actually fitting the strut back in with an extra 2.5 but thats sorta a given, just have a prybar or a long screw driver and a sledge hammer handy), just a heads up, but overall very simple concept, took me about 5 hours ( about an hour and a half of that was going back and forth to auto zone and my local hrdware store and back), just take into account that there might be some problems and a little forceful encouragement to get the job done, and youll be fine

did you measure before deciding on the 2.5", my 2013 Screw is exactly 2" higher in the rear than the front. seems most on here raise the rear 1" that go with the 2.5" level. wait till after you have the frontend aligned and recheck but it is probably still going to be a little high in the front. every truck seems to be a little different, if you tow, i would go with the aal or air bags.

I have a 2" on my 2013 XLT and it was completely level. Mine did not settle much, if at all. However, when I was towing a very light trailer, I had a pretty bad reverse rake, so I decided to put on the 3" blocks. Love the stance now and when I tow my 4-wheeler or a light trailer, it is level or has a slight rake depending on the load. I don't tow much, but when I do, I didn't want the reverse rake.

yeah mine was about 2 inches higher in the rear, i just heard alot of people getting leveling kits and they did not lift the truck as much as expected ie ( 2 inch leveling kit raised it an inch and a half) so i figured id try it with the 2.5 blocks and see if it was level or settled down at all, it actually settled down quite a bit even from yesterday, (i think it was the suspension finally settling down from the truck being jacked up) but its almost completely level now about 1/4 of an inch off, but regardless im probably going to add 2 inch blocks in the rear to have a little rack, all in all i cant complain, i wanted my truck higher for new wheels and just the look of it, but god damn i really cant believe how much bigger my truck feels with only 2.5 in the front, doesnt sound like much but its a world of difference, definately a good cheap solid investment, at least in my eyes, but anyway thank all you guys for your input, everybit of feedback i get helps me out alot, i appreciate it all

Finished my' 13 scab last weekend. Had 2.5" factory rake. Installed 2" offset strut spacers and it added 2.5" even after a drive and some bouncing of the suspension. Luckily I was also adding pro comp AAL's, which added 1.75" and left me with reduced rake. Prior to the AAL it measured level but eyeballing it looked like the font was higher. On previous rigs I have done this with, I have never seen substantial" settling", which is what I assume you are hoping for.
